Well, I had my first ambulance ride today. I can't think of a worse scenario to discover that you have a heart arrhythmia than when you're in a construction zone traffic jam on the way to work and your heart jumps to 200+ BPM, but apparently the kind I have isn't as dangerous as it sounds so I guess I can't complain too much.
Be sure you stay on top of it.
Also anyone over the age of 40 should start seeing a cardiologist. We go on and on about seeing butt doctors to get scoped but no one talks about cardiac prevention. My first cardiologist said I was one of like 5 patients he was able to work on prevention with in 20 years of cardiology, most people only show up after the fact. I have four generations of heart attacks in men in my family. There is a ton of imaging and testing that can be done to rule out a lot of issues, so doing it preemptively can be really valuable even if it's not a guarantee. I think a lot of people in my circle think being athletic and healthy is enough but sometimes it's not, so it's worth doing even if you are athletic/healthy. I've known pro/elite athletes that had various heart conditions including heart attacks.
Anyway, stay on top of it. I have arrhythmia issues and they seem to get worse as people get older. There are a lot of different treatments that can be done that are minimally invasive (this is another issue that runs in my family), so be sure you are updating your doctors on any changes or if you see it more frequently.
