Japanese can seem overly polite or humble to the others, but that's their way to interact with other people socially. there are people that's exception to the rule, of course. But they are in the minority.

Might just be the way it sorts when the interval ticks over, too. Could be that they have older database ids and sorting mechanism uses that as a secondary criteria for ties. Someone sees and clicks out of curiosity(like you did) and that keeps them on there longer. Of course, this is assuming it isn't a rolling tally.
