He's a humble sort. He's mildly active on Twitter, and his tweets are always incredibly polite.
Like one from October talks about a concert that will feature some of his music, and he says something along the lines of, "If it's convenient for you, and you like my music, please come to this concert!"
And his banner pic is him in the front row of an empty auditorium.
Speak to more musicians of all aspects- we're never happy with our work; there's always something that could have been performed more accurately, or a compositional idea that strikes just a breath after a work goes to print, or a mix that never sits the way the dj wanted.
That really applies to any art medium tbh. I always feel being a creator is like an never ending journey to obtain that impossible perfection.
I think it's also the same reason why AI is often look down up on in the artist community. It's like AI often made an image that's 50%-60% done then the user often just stop there, either because they can't draw well enough without AI or because they feel AI's image is good enough. The whole mindset is antithesis of what being an artist really is about.
Those FFXI composer interviews make me think that either Mizuta doesn't think highly of himself, or simply dislikes interviews. It's weird that most of it is Uematsu speaking when Mizuta has created the majority (like 99%) of the music in XI for the past 2 decades.
I would have liked to hear more from him. I just hope he's proud of his work.
Oh absolutely. I love Uematsu, but I wish there was an exclusive Mizuta interview. That way he'll have no chance but to talk more!

Tokidoki (sometimes) Bedroom Producer
Yeah you could also tell from his looks (haircut, way he dresses, shaves etc) that he probably doesn't like being in the spotlight

It's a very common Japanese style response. Japanese can seem overly polite or humble to the others, but that's their way to interact with other people socially.
there are people that's exception to the rule, of course. But they are in the minority.

Too many Americans think all artists are out there making Hype Videos to hawk our wares. Those are businessmen, not artists.
I've been wondering this for a while: why do we get characters in the "Most Viewed Chars" that have no AH history in over a decade, no forum post history, etc?
Seems like it happens with some frequency and I'm just curious why.

Well for me on fenrir, I know that if I look at anyone more then a few times in a day they will pop up on that list, so if it only takes 1 view to get on most viewed it is as easy as misclicking in a search.
Might just be the way it sorts when the interval ticks over, too. Could be that they have older database ids and sorting mechanism uses that as a secondary criteria for ties. Someone sees and clicks out of curiosity(like you did) and that keeps them on there longer. Of course, this is assuming it isn't a rolling tally.
"Momma bought a chicken, well she thought it was a duck
Put him on the table with his leg's stickin up
Well now, here comes sis with a spoon and a glass
Start's dishin out the grave from his yas-yas-yas"
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
