We arent in 1215 tho. How about you take a seat right here in 2025.

I dont feel particularly confortable by teaming up with Nynja against Afania.

I prefer having both against me, otherwise i dont even sweat.

So, I think both Afania and Nynja could go together to police station.

One for having questionable preferences.

The other for kicking dogs.

Though, i think the later is worst

I can't even begin to express how annoying it is that I still receive political text messages several times a week and the election ended over 2 months ago

I am confused, are you saying you think Frieren looks 12? I dont get that.
She definitely doesn't, not just in appearance but also in demeanor, speech and mannerisms. EDIT: and IIRC there is zero fan service about her (or anybody else really) in the anime.

I'm sure everybody knows that but willingly latched onto Afania's bait to have a reason to shitpost because boredom

Though, when I said Love Hina, its mostly because it was the firstone I saw in that genre.

I know at least Maison Ikoku pre-dates it, but I only read that way later.
At least Maison-Ikkoku/Love Hina-like makes sense
I still have no idea what "retrogameslike" is supposed to mean lol

There is, actually. Something about Fern's big boobs covered half the sky, then it became sex joke meme in some otaku communities lol.

Also Stark's *** size sex joke too.

She is more like Rebecca from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, just a small build and flat chest.

If you see Rebecca this way, then maybe you are a potential candidate too ;DDDD

Studio Trigger's opinion on her: Loli must stay!

Rebecca is basically designed that way so the show could have a legit adult Loli character.

My ally is growing, come and fight me Nynja!

2D animation? 15 minuets of plot in a 5 hour game?

Perhaps even going back to pong and asteroids?

Guessing what "retrogameslike" is could be a delightful game here.

Gandalf is the best! I’m not sure how old he really is, but I’ve heard he’s been around for thousands of years. As Mithra, I’m pretty proud of my white hair, just like his. Played FFXI for the first time really gave me those LotR feels.

To me "retrogameslike" is dying over and over and over again ;)

Something like Ghosts 'n Goblins for example. Some say the worst punishment one can receive is beat Ghosts 'n Goblins without save state.

Now I need more Frieren

I see another potential candidate that may join my "it's an adult but with the look of a child" kink world......

Mwhahaha!
No. First of all, Frieren is like a 5' nothing shortie, so she's not really THAT short.

Secondly, what made Frieren so good wasn't anything to do with sexual expression/feelings/titillation. It's the fact that it's heartwarming, as it uses its unique take on elves and their long lives to drive a sorrowful love story.

Elves live practically forever, unless they get killed by violence/accident, so they have a tendency to wander around and separate, so they're also very rare. Viewing 50 years as a casual span of time and viewing 10 as, "almost no time at all" this leads to Frieren having to adjust to human's conception of what a long time is, and coming to the realization that her 10 years with the party of heroes that defeated the demon king was a very important stretch of time. And that perhaps she was in love with Himmel.

It set this somber tone and plot thread up within the first couple episodes, and it really pulls at your heartstrings.

For the other side of things, Frieren is a powerful mage, and in the current arc, she is tricked by one of her old comrades into training a new mage, a purple haired girl named Fern. This side of things introduces us to magic in the world, to demons, to how demons do magic, and to Frieren's own magic mentor from a thousand years ago. A SEXY REDHEAD named Flamma.

They set out together to go to where spirits walk the earth, so that Frieren can talk to Himmel at least one more time, and along the way collect more party members.

One of the most charming things about the anime is that they will arrive in a town that has built statues to Frieren and the party of heroes, where the townspeople will wax lyrical about Himmel or the other heroes, but Frieren hasn't forgotten since it was like just yesterday for her, and will quip about how it really went down.

Such a damn good anime.

Vyre isn't my ally after all ;(

On a more serious note, I do love this IP too, but not because of the tone nor romance, but because of the battle system.

The Golden Land arc(which is not in the anime), has one of the best shonen Manga "rule based combat" since hunter x hunter. I would argue it executed even better than most battles in hxh.

A lot of shonen Manga like Jujutsu Kaisen like to use rule based combat system. But if the author lacks strong logical foundation to build these rules then it can quickly become "this character is having an advantage in combat because the author said so" situation. And that makes combat scenes boring to read.

Frieren's author is extremely good at crafting a set of believable magical rules that works in the world. And it's delightful to see this kind of skill being shown in a story.

(Of course, I also liked various ideology debate happened in Golden Land arc, but that's another 10 paragraph of discussion, lol)

I think Frieren is popular because wider amount of readers can get something out of it. Romance/character interaction/combat/philosophy, it has it all. It's rare to see an author is this good at every aspect in a story.

I like how all characters' names are just German words representing their main traits, reflected on their design. I find it amusing & always wondered how a German-speaking person would react to this, lol.

..... Is Facebook tracking FFXIAH or not? Why are there all these posts suddenly popping up in my feed with girls who clearly look like they’re 12, rocking bikinis or mini skirts just to grab attention? I see like 5,000 comments saying stuff like "OMG, you’re so hot!" or "Wait, how old are you?" WTF Facebook!?

Anyway, forget it.

IIRC it's only their paws/noses and that's it. It's piss poor at managing body heat though.
