I see another potential candidate that may join my "it's an adult but with the look of a child" kink world......
Mwhahaha!
No. First of all, Frieren is like a 5' nothing shortie, so she's not really THAT short.
Secondly, what made Frieren so good wasn't anything to do with sexual expression/feelings/titillation. It's the fact that it's heartwarming, as it uses its unique take on elves and their long lives to drive a sorrowful love story.
Elves live practically forever, unless they get killed by violence/accident, so they have a tendency to wander around and separate, so they're also very rare. Viewing 50 years as a casual span of time and viewing 10 as, "almost no time at all" this leads to Frieren having to adjust to human's conception of what a long time is, and coming to the realization that her 10 years with the party of heroes that defeated the demon king was a very important stretch of time. And that perhaps she was in love with Himmel.
It set this somber tone and plot thread up within the first couple episodes, and it really pulls at your heartstrings.
For the other side of things, Frieren is a powerful mage, and in the current arc, she is tricked by one of her old comrades into training a new mage, a purple haired girl named Fern. This side of things introduces us to magic in the world, to demons, to how demons do magic, and to Frieren's own magic mentor from a thousand years ago. A SEXY REDHEAD named Flamma.
They set out together to go to where spirits walk the earth, so that Frieren can talk to Himmel at least one more time, and along the way collect more party members.
One of the most charming things about the anime is that they will arrive in a town that has built statues to Frieren and the party of heroes, where the townspeople will wax lyrical about Himmel or the other heroes, but Frieren hasn't forgotten since it was like just yesterday for her, and will quip about how it really went down.
Such a damn good anime.
