It's 5:30 for me, and everytime anyone's brought it up so far, it's always been called the 5:30 freeze, so that's how it will remain.

I'd still like to know why it happens, as far as I know, it's yet to be answered, but there has to be a single reason since it happens every day without fail, at the same exact time.

I just assume it's the server doing something with the data. A scan or moving things from one place to another.
I posted on the facebook page and broface said Database backup.
