Kind of a random thought, but as of late I've noticed that my undying devotion and fanboyism to the Final Fantasy franchise has come to it's conclusion and ultimate demise with the direction SE has taken it since 13. After having watched the trailer for 13-2, the final nail on the coffin has been put in. For the first time ever, I know for a fact that I will not be wasting my time or money on a new FF title nor giving it any benefit of the doubt.
In the past I have endured perversions such as X-2, which was a real bait and switch, but a fun game nevertheless. Twelve was a wonderful direction taken, but ultimately lacked substance in the climax and ending that I had always expected out of a flagship title.
Luckily XI and XIV, being MMOs and taking on a completely different nature than single player epics, have given a wonderful open world, classic sense of adventure that I missed so much from older titles like IV-IX

But with XIII-2 and Type 0, I just can't bear with it anymore.
The Legend of Zelda has become my new franchise of affection, and frankly, has yet to disappoint ever. Until Mistwalker makes more titles, Zelda is my new love.

How so? I'm having a blast with it.
I love the hints and allusions to previous titles and how it all ties in such a subtle manner.

Type-0 looks like a classic style-influenced FF :x I think that one is going to be really good.

I seem to get stuck on things only to find out the solution is something that you never would think about doing or it's stuck somewhere else that has no relative connection to the problem (might just be cause I'm not paying attention? but I usually am lol)

Then again I'm not even through the first dungeon and the controls alone seem to not want to work how they say they should, they're not as good as they should be.

Well, despite the sexual innuendo, it is quite accurate.
I got really excited and giggly over the massive open world environment and playstyle that was akin to FF11, and managed to cleverly manage a three character battle system in real time. Very intuitive on their part, and the dropped theme of romance in exchange for a war was a refreshing change, but unfortunately all came to an underwhelming ending and left a little too many holes so to speak in the end.
Like how Vaan ended up being the primary protagonist, yet had absolutely no significance to the story whatsoever...

Despite ultimately being Final Fantasy: Star Wars. I had a fun time with it. Just wish they re-wrote the last 75% of the game.

We'll have to see.
Doesn't help that I don't own a PSP.
But the trailer made it look too... flashy, over stylized and dramatic; similar to the fashion that Kingdom Hearts went, but I simply don't see it working well for being it's own FF title.
But alas, It's far too soon to judge.

Also, I too was worried that the hand movement function being an important element of the game would bring unwarranted difficulty and shortcomings, but like most Zelda titles, they hold true to having obscure and relatively difficult dungeons/temples. I just hope the bosses aren't underwhelming like they tend to be.

I'm somewhat happy he had little to do with with the overall story, to me he sucked as a character in general. Though I can understand how annoying that is.

As for the rest I also totally agree.

Sadly I've gotten to the point where I just don't get hopeful for many games in general now a days. Most are filled with bugs or progress horrible, or even more common are beaten in a matter of hours. It just doesn't feel like ***is worth my time anymore. :/
