Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

Yeah, I read that after I posted what I did lol. Why does this stuff have to be all confusing? >.> Anyway, server is in US, so that is the reason the freeze is ahead for you. Since we gotta be all different and start DST early.

Last summer, late June/early July... I don't remember exactly. Apparently someone was watching too much CSI, so after going through my empty car and a few others in the neighborhood, they set the insides on fire to hide their fingerprints.

Luckily it was all cosmetic and insurance covered it.

Just thought it might strike up some bit of conversation of some sort, but from the looks of it, my posting killed the thread more than it helped it along.

Yeah... Now, I'm not an excitable type or person, and I don't generally overreact to things. Basically, it went something like this...

10-11AM, decide I'm taking my son to the park. Walk out to the car to put some stuff inside before we go. From a distance, I think, "Why do my windows suddenly look tinted? I don't remember them being that dark."

Get up to the car. "Yeah, they're tinted. Who randomly tints someone's windows in the middle of the night?" *opens car door, awful smell* At that point, it still took a few seconds of me looking around (even with the torched seat right in front of me) to figure out what was wrong.

At that point, I'm just sort of, "What do I do?" even though I KNOW I should just call the police first, and I was shaking pretty bad. (Not really out of anger... I don't really get angry. Still more out of "wtf?" I guess.) So I end up calling my son's mom, I think. She tells me to call her mom (lives across the street from me >_>) to keep an eye on our son for me and to call the police.

All these crazy scenarios are running through my head, trying to figure out what could cause it to catch fire. (At that point, arson still hadn't occurred to me.) I was thinking totally random, nearly-impossible things, like, "Did I leave a Poptart wrapper on the front seat and somehow the sunlight got it hot enough to catch fire?" even though I know that wouldn't happen... My car is not a microwave.

Anyway, call the police, and they say they'll be out when they finish with another call for the same thing a block or two away. In all, it was like 5-6 other cars within a few blocks from me.

By the end of the whole ordeal, talking with the police and the arson investigator from the fire department, I was pretty much back to normal and had a pretty easy time laughing off my misfortune. Luckily, I had a second (though worn out) car that I could use until it was repaired.

The whole thing was just a big "Wtf?" moment for me, though.

It doesn't feel like 6:30 in the morning. ==;

I'd be pretty pissed myself... Not only do your car get burgled he sets a fire to cover his tracks when he could of just worn gloves... My first thought would of went to crazy ex/stalker lol... good that it worked out as well as it could of though.

Landlord coming by in an hour for an inspection. He hasn't done this in 7 years. -.- It's very much got me on edge, even if my house is clean.

Do you have one of those landlords that lives in the basement and is kinda hard to approach because your not sure if he is a troll or some kind of magical creature?
