you need at the minimum 3x how ever many the digimon requires. though if it fails it eats ur data and u still need more

That is so lame -_- I just wasted 9 data on an egg that failed. Is it totally random or is there something I can do to prevent that?

Next update is apparently this Tuesday. Read it on megaphone chat so take it with a pinch of salt. :x
Also, really wish you could filter out megaphone chat. I get that the point was so people could advertise trades to everyone, even those with filters up, but the items are so damn common, it's just turned into freakin' world chat. D:

How do I get the quest arrow back up? It seems to randomly work for some quests and not others :/

When you're in the same area as the target Digimon/NPC, open your map (default key is M) and click the NPC/Monster tabs at the bottom. Find the one you want for the quest in the list, click it, and it'll set the arrow up.

last question.. as you level, do lower leveled monsters stop dropping items? I was farming Gabumon for beast eggs but they stopped dropping stuff when I hit 16

Yeah, they stop dropping cracked/item/data eggs. They'll still drop quest items you need, though.
I have no idea if they stop dropping hatchable eggs or not.

50/50 chance it will break, cant prevent it. have to be lucky
