Relatively certain that you need at least 3 monitors of the same relative make for it to work, and unless you have something ridiculous like a Mars II or a 690 you're gonna want to SLI, or at least have a 680.

Yeah. I think I'll just put this idea on hold for now. But with newer stuff coming out, I probably could get a good deal and nab two 570s in SLI. Hopefully that will accommodate a three-screen panoramic gameplay experience.

Two 570's is slightly above a 590 and a 590 can run tri.

Tbh if you're going all out for a Surround SLI setup I'd do a pair 670s. More expensive by about 50%, but you get quite a bit more power, they scale very well with SLI and are roughly 25~30% more powerful than 570s iirc.

Honestly Art i would aim for the 600 series. The platform they are built on is just -better-. You could do 2 670's and get a lot more out of it then doing 570's or 580's (which are still good, but if you are going 3D mode you need a lot more then the 570's can offer) If you just want to play on 3 screens like this
then 2SLI'd 570's would be the absolute minimum you could do it on.
My 590 has some trouble in Crysis (not even on max settings).

Do you have issues on crysis on 3D or default?
Then again most I play is BF3 which I should be fine on.

Honestly yeah... at this point in time I'd offer anyone who's serious about upgrading their PC the advice of going with a Kepler GPU, and in that I'd tell them to buy a 670 or two. 680 is plain unnecessary for the $100 increase in price, you lose a miniscule amount of performance after you overclock the 670 a bit, and 690 is for those who really want shiny toys.

That was my case at least.
The x58 saber-tooth has limited space between it's PCIx16's so to avoid heat issues I chose the 590 over 2x 570's.
