My term paper on DLC is very quickly becoming a 12 page rant about how much money I have wasted on DLC in my lifetime ><

I always feel cheated by DLC, that ***should be in the game already.

So far I think costume DLC has been the greatest offender in my paper, and the cause of my using the word aesthetic earlier.

Since costumes almost always have no impact on the gameplay itself, the value and cost should be extremely low, especially in games where the costumes are recycled from earlier games. In my paper I used Dead or Alive 5 and Warriors Orochi 3 as examples.

DoA5 has 176 costumes as of this very minute, game costs $60 and DLC costumes cost ~$65. MOST of the costumes are recycled or recolored.
In 2004 DoA Ultimate was released on the Xbox with 167 costumes included for $60.

Warriors Orochi 3 has $45 worth of costumes and the game itself was $40 when I bought it (I think it is $30 now). NONE, as in ZERO, of the DLC costumes are original content, they are all recycled costumes or recolored or just other characters costumes put on different characters.

IT GETS ME SO RILED UP.
