There was an easy "Glitch" to obtain mew in the game. I spent my entire time trying to use strength on that stupid truck.

Orange Islands was good, after that I completely lost interest in pokemon.

Mew can learn every move ever. Stats aren't the best. Was one of the best back then, though, yeah. :I

Kinda. If you let him level naturally to 100 his base stats are pretty damn high.

They did not. When Gold and Silver came out, it added 100 new species. When Ruby and Sapphire came out, it added about 170 or so iirc, maybe less, and then when /barfs Diamond and Pearl came out the count was up to 492 Pokemon. Lost track after that, but the pokemon in Black and White were legit, and there were at least 150 or more added then, so the count is up to over 600.

600-something until October. And it's not hard to miss species when they don't live in the area you're studying in. British Professor Oak wouldn't know about Indian Elephants if he only studied in Britain for example. :I

Then no. Unless you want a ring that increases your defence when you're on low HP.
There is a pretty cheap way to kill him easily, but you'll need a fair few arrows. ;x

Yeah it's kind of funny. All that technology in the pokemon world yet Oak only knows 150. "Oh yeah hey I looked at the super large database again and it turns out I just didn't hit the 'next' tab on the list of pokemon.. there's like 450 more"
