Could be the scaleless just isn't hereditary... I doubt boobs is her mom but have no idea there really. It's probably like the pendent and they dropped just enough to get people talking and crafting their own theories.

What the game doesn't tell us is why the doll is located in the cell where you start the game at.

Idk.. I didn't think dead space was all that scary as it was suspenseful... you never knew what was around the next corner or even in front of you in some vent or such... it always kept you on your toes... There was always that feeling that you needed to keep your finger on the trigger...

The mother could be anyone.

The mages with the 9 eyes kidnaps women to take them to the dukes archives where seath conducts experiments on them.

That is why you find two non aggressive mutant things where as the rest will attack you after you get imprisoned. They are weaping, probably still keeping part of their mind in tact but lost in sorrow.

When you kill them they drop two miracles, so they were cleric's captured and experimented on.

Also, the lady who goes down into the tomb of the giants with her team. If you manage to save her, then buy her spells, she'll end up going to the dukes archives hollowed.

So the mother doesn't have to be a giant, it could be any normal human as long as the baby isn't unreasonable to carry. Who knows what all seath did, the whole thing isn't very clear.

If seath is the father, the mother wouldn't be alive. If that is true, then she most likely fled, ashamed of what she is, to hide from the world in the painted world where she feels safe. She doesn't attack you, asking you to leave. You even gain sin attacking her.
