I believe I made a casual attempt to watch the episodes; I'm talking 2-3 in a day, then forget about it for a week or two then come back. But... reaching the end of the first season, I was, like, "...there's no more?" like a child reaching the empty bottom of a bag of candy. Suffered withdrawal for the 48 hours following my discovery, but now I think I'll live.
Owl's Well that Ends Well is the best episode, though; Spike-centered plot is the way to go.
...Ahem.
However, for continuity purposes, the title of the show will remain the same.
Also, looking into "Art of the Dress," Rarity's song from episode 14 (Suited for Success), it seems it's an homage to Sondheim's "Putting it Together," yet it's presented in a fashion that everyone can still enjoy without knowing the original work. Not even I picked up on this until my roommate mentioned it. The idea was taken and built heavily upon to adapt it to pony standards. Excellent work, I must say, not relying too much on the original to write itself for the show.
Yes, I realize I'm enjoying it on a different level than the standard person who posts a shot from the show with a funny expression and text on it, but I'm giving credit where credit is due.
I've raved about the show to some people (without trying to sell it too much), and I hate to say, some people are just, like, "D: My Little Pony? Those three words cannot exist in the same sentence! I refuse to watch it!"
