How does Lightning not get mentioned? I personally liked her personality. (Then again, always been a fan of the female protaginist). Terra and Celes were up there as well in my rankings

As far as serious characters go, I'm a total nostalgia *** for Shadow from FF6. His background with the dreams added to replay value, as well as him being mysterious and awesome. Oh, and being able to throw dirk's for 9999 damage was pretty boss.

Locke's story makes me tear up. On the other hand, the first time I replayed 6 after seeing The Dark Knight, I got this funny image of Locke with Two-Face's head screaming, "Rachel! Raaaachelllllllll!" Like from the scene where Harvey Dent's chair tips over etc.

Cyan's would make me tear up, if Cyan wasn't such a stone cold bad ***!

I'm so biased towards FF6 though, maybe I shouldn't pick a character from it. If I even can. It's the best FF ever!

Hmm, I really liked Galuf from FF5. I haven't done a replay of it in a long time, so I've forgotten all his awesome lines, but I will always remember his suicidal charge against Ex-Death.

So barring FF6, probably Galuf. Amarant from FF9 was cool though too.

Other than that, my nostalgia *** takes over and I have to say Shadow.

Honestly, it had nothing to do with it. Lightning just didn't even have a personality.

He takes any chance he can to bash it.

As far as Lightning goes I'd have to say I liked her character...but as I stated arealier I liked practically all the XIII chary's

I actually found Lightning the least developed character of the XIII's cast o.o

She was pretty mature and always kept to herself, I just enjoyed the way she punched snow in the face whenever she pleased.

Golbez was pretty boss, first to have his own theme and everything. I like him as a character in general really. From his bad-*** disposition to him trying to redeem himself once he had awoken at the game's end solid.

Ps. I said WoL but just character in general from FF1 since whether or not you chose a warrior period the goal of the "warrior of light" was to piss on garland's cake.

She has a very Squall like quality to start with. Cold, disconnected from anybody elses problems, without a care for anyone.

Squall isn't really emo at all.

Disconnected and noncaring =/= emo

And Squall's personality did change quite a bit from beginning to end, but he was consistent rather than "OMG SAD" 5 mins later "OMG HAPPY"

Well, from what I remember, Squall developed from a shy boy lacking in self esteem into a leader figure.
