My uncle paid more than $50 for Space Invaders when it first came out, because at the time, this was THE gaming console. Maybe some like, second tier games were less, but for new/good ones, $50 was it. Now, new games are $60 I think... I just checked a random inflation calculator:

It wasn't until much later in the SNES's life cycle(maybe even N64's) that a price was regulated to $50, the way games are set at $60 or below now(not including special/collector's editions). I distinctly recall seeing many NES/SNES games for more than $80; I paid $70 for Final Fantasy II(IV) when it came out. back in 2000 console games were only $40...
Damn... I guess we should have checked other NPCs....
