crithit rate cap'ed. why ws in rancor ?

this is actually a spin-off of my other thread Should i redo acp body ? that lead me to this question

my ws set

now i noticed this

Crit rate WS
merrits 5%
atma RR 30%
dDEX 20%
uko 30%
gear 6%
thats 91%

if i change in the critrate grib its gonna be 94%

that is without bloodrage going on so and not counting over tp on ws.
so i don't really see getting 10% critrate from rancors collar is going to do me much inside abyssea

also i saw some other threaade that elemten gorget still beats it out slightly ?

anything om missng or sohud li tosse the rancor colalr fomr my ws set ?

Rancor is 5%.

That's about all I could even understand from your post, could you like, spell check it or something?

Most Emp weaponskills seem to be 15 at 100TP, 25 at 200 etc., not sure if I've ever seen testing on Ukko's but I find it hard to believe that it's 30% at 100TP.

Small test (roughly 70 samples), but I remember :Hi gaining like a 24% critical hit rate boost at 100% TP.
Ukko would probably be around that.
sadly Ukko is much harder to test.

Testing for ukko's crit rate is in the ukko's fury gear thread, and is 30%. It wasn't harder to test than Hi, if anything I would think it was easier(faster to get tp w/ a 2handed weapon than a 1 handed weapon when you are 1 shotting bunnys).

In abyssea, sure, you could WS with elemental gorget instead. Outside, you're far better off with Rancor Collar. That's just a given. But isn't crit rate capped at 100% anyway? I know the 95% rule applies to a lot of things (resist rates, acc % etc)

Hi is only 15% at 100TP, 25% at 300TP. You might want to check your Ukko's test.

That's what the JP testers claimed. I put it on this page in the references.

:Hi and CDC are 15/20/25. Ukko being 30 wouldn't be completely unlikely if SE took offhand into account for :Hi and CDC, but I doubt it verily.

Ukko 30 RR 30 dDEX 20 Merits 5 Hat 3 grip 3 body 3 Rancor 5 is 99%

what's so hard to believe that essentially having sneak attack-like crit rate on every ukko's fury is bad?

1 wast not sure cap was 95% or 100%
2: stacking one multiplier gives reduced effect vs stacking another multiplier (crithitrate vs fTP from thunder gorget)

quick mat example 50x50 = 2500

if you can ad two 15 bonuses you cab stack on one factor
80x50 = 4000

or even them out on the two factors
65*65 = 4225

its very simple math to understand that a square has the biggest area according to the length of the sides. ergo equal factors in a formula gives the biggest product

so its better not to just stack one multiplier solely

or to say it like this

crithitrate like any other multiplier you stack gets diminishing return. so it might be better to improve somewhere else

but without knowing the dmg increase effect form crithit and the ftp multiplier of the ws i can't math it out. so i ask

DO A SPELL CHECK BEFORE YOU POST

Might seem harsh but I promise that some people skim your posts because of how badly written they are.

I was always really bad at FFXI math, but isn't there a floor and ceiling on crit hit rate just like most things?

Also if the base crit hit rate is really low, let's say 2%, you would be hitting +101% with that setup.

With the way most other things work in this game, I would assume the max crit hit rate you could reach would be 95%. So you would probably be good with about 90-93% crit hit+ and still hit the cap.

Although I could be stupidly wrong, I'm just throwing it out there.

Max crit rate is 100% and this has already been tested and proven. Max Spell Interruption Rate down is 102%. Max crit damage is 100%. (Max casting time reduction is 80% :/). If MAB caps no one knows wth it caps at.

i would believe he base ctitrate you are talking about is what you get from dDEX so ther is no other 2% to add we alrleady capped dDEX more or less inside abyssea

how?

102 * 10 / 1024 = 99.6% just like how you calculate actual haste values.

I think he meant 103 though because only then you reach 100% mathematically but maybe the game rounds the number up to the next whole number for interruption rate, not sure about that so 102 may be the correct number.

It probably works like haste calculations where most items have slightly less than the advertised amount whereas items/spells with large amounts (hi2u pre-nerf Aquaveil) have slightly more and it added up such that 102% was sufficient to cap for the original testing.
