He might have actually beat the BST if he had Hermes' sandals and didn't stop to Chakra though. He got close both times, but when he used Chakra, that's what got him killed. Didn't get to see the vs DRK one, though. :(

Pld vs Blu eh. Wonder if either of these two individuals know what they're doing.

I'd put my pld over a blu, But i'd also put my blu over a pld D:

Also sorry about that little downtime, apparently my ISP didn't like that I downloaded Skyrim.

The problem with the endark/enlight spells is MDT/MDB gear.

MDT will make the damage managable as most jobs with moderate dark rings/twilight torque can hit 5/5/5/15~ right there.

If the PLD is really pushing the Kclub then just use minveras ring and slot even more, even go as far as to wield two mdb katanas and the enlight will start hitting for low tier double digits quickly.

Seeing as MAB gear has no effect on Enlight, MDB shouldn't either. But I wasn't certain so I went and did a quick test.

Checked current fresh enlight DMG on a mob with no shell/MDB. 62 DMG
Found a RDM mob(MDB II), dispelled shell and hit. 62 dmg enlight. Let it cast shell IV, recast enlight and hit again. 48 dmg Enlight. Which lines up with the -21.9 MDT from shell IV.

So, MDT/Shell does reduce Enlight dmg. But MDB has no effect.

I guess skip the magians and use that one MDT katana if you really need to.

This is very good to know, thank you.

Seriously so cool, I love you tbh. I assume this applies to all En's.

I would think it does, but I didn't test any others. After all, I think RDMs woulda noticed if MAB was boosting their en's.

the only times I saw PVP was mostly for fun, I don't see people rushing out to do just that, it's a subpar system at best :/

PVP was so much more fun than the mainstream game, it died out because there were no rewards, it blew up your money, and time you could spend progressing in the game.

The original set of jobs were pretty balanced in PvP, given you had experience playing the main job and a full understanding of the capabilities of the support jobs, and not just at 1 level but all of the different caps. Strengths at one level were possibly Null or actually weaknesses at another.

You had to gear differently for PvP too, running around with all STR based gear or INT based gear was silly. Finding your job's strong point wasn't the only thing you had to look for in PvP. Given you had a halfway decent team there would be strategy involved beyond the taxing if A does then then I should do this. And in return A counters with this so I should counter with that. Knowing when to set a trap for the opposing team "baiting," having a balanced group that were capable of actually pulling off complex tasks like baiting 6 opposing team members into a "horde trap" and blasting them with a black mage or two, killing them instantly or setting them up to get "blacked out" and picked off by melees, trying to run only to be caught in the second "horde lock."
Then there was the ever so lovely "mouse trap," set yourself up in a fight to seem like you were losing, run off, the cat follows the cornered mouse, only to be caught themselves. Team members hiding behind landscapes rush out and drop them.

Though its not as flashy as a FPS, or as complex as a real strategic battle simulation game. It was nowhere near a "sub-par system" given the alternative mindlessly hit a button, watch your character bash a lizard, cast a spell, hit the * key, go take a piss, repeat.

Now I feel there's a huge gap between the original jobs and the jobs released during the AU expansion (and certain gear added after). In specific BLU and COR. Granted you don't have gear swap restrictions a PLD with Ochain and Aegis would probably be invincible or damn well near. So PvP 1 v 1 might seem redundant but I wouldn't mind getting a zone full of people and assorted jobs, just to see how the dice falls.

Now that everyone knows the basic concept of their jobs it'd be nice to see how well they carry themselves given all the different gear options.

Man I really wish I was there.
