I learned this by following a post on official forum, it works. Go in T10 bellerophon's bliss and kill goblin then dont engage khimaira but just spam bludgeon on it, it will use it. This NM starts with wings raised up from start but immidiately take them down after getting hit by any weapon. So use bludgeon and it will luckly (1/6) use it then rape it. Hope it helps

Been trying this flux and I've yet to learn it.

I'm not too sure if it's possible or not, has anybody learned it through this method?

Can't learn in WoE Confluxes because the mobs don't directly give exp in any situation.

This also applies to campaign battle mobs and mobs you kill with tags on.

It's possible to learn spells in besieged if your party lands the killing blow, so this isn't true.

Speaking of Besieged, has anyone tried learning Tourbillion from Nemean Lion? According to the wiki, he can use all Khimaira moves. This seems like a possibility if you could catch him during an Undead Swarm attack...

You'd have to land the killing blow or be in a party for that kill to count towards a possible learn.

That's true, but my linkshell does Besieged parties quite often, so there's a reasonable chance of that happening. I'm not quite up to the Unbridled Learning spells yet, but I hope it's an option.

What if Khim used it on another party. They wipe. You claim later and then kill?

I'm fairly positive I learned Mind Blast that way from a group wiping to Kadreath the Hatespawn, but it never went idle.

This is slightly related. (I hope the Necrobump is justified.)

I was goofing about in Altep and I happened upon a group fighting Orthrus while I was trying to get BLU body seals from the quest nearby. I watched them for a moment and when he was around 1% I started to run back to the NPCs. (I like to rubberneck when peeps are killing NMs. Sue me.) Not a moment after I start running back, the message pops up in my log that I learned Gates of Hades. I thought surely that it was a glitch and checked my spell list only to see Gates of Hades present, in which I immediately felt the need to cast it on a nearby Dhalmel. I know it's not Tourbillion, but it does have a related topic on the ability to learn spells. I didn't know a single person who was fighting him, and I'm 100% certain that I was not in the party, ever.

(Cannot provide a screenshot as I play on the 360 version, so I realize the validity of my statement is hard to confirm.)

This was a while back. Perhaps 3 or 4 weeks after they added the new Unbridled spells. No idea if this is still relevant and corrected or not.

Nope. Just like I said. Rubbernecking checking out how fast they were taking it down. I do wonder though, does he have any true AoE attacks that hit anyone nearby, even if they aren't in the party? I didn't get hit by any AoE as I only watched them for a minute tops. But perhaps true AoE could carry over into learnable spells?

Excuse the necro. I wanted to make sure I could learn this spell from Dhorme Khimaira in Abyssea Ulegeurand. I'm thinking it would be easier to pop him then try Nyzul Isle.
Has anyone learned it from this NM?

Nope, cuz he doesn't use it. Neither does Apademak. Can't be learned in Abyssea. :(

Best place to learn is the Assaults if you have them unlocked.

I'd like to know this too. Was trying for a good hour+ with a LS mate to get her Tourbillion last night and we couldn't get the wings back up.

Sorry for necro btw :O hard to find good information on this.

sorry for the necro necro, but I'm nostalgia lurking and figured I'd reply. Yea, like 2 years ago, maybe even 3 now, I burned probably 2-hours doing TOAU.22 fighting Khimara 13 for naught. I never even saw the spell.

I'd just auto-attack or stand around letting it TP while the guy who needed the mission just sat off throwing the odd cure. When it got close to death, he'd zone out, and it'd boot me out shortly after. We did this probably 13 times before I just said screw it and finished him off for the guy to get his mission win.

Tourbi eluded me for a long time. I tried the one Caedarva twice, teaming up with a BST. Same ***, didn't learn. I finally just put it out of my mind getting it any other way and just did the old Nyzul Isle because I think it's like a 33% chance of getting Khimara there. I didn't have access to FL Assaults.

A friend and I did a couple runs, along with another BLU who needed, and we got Khimara twice. Both times waiting for Tourbi. I learned it the second match (our last tags) but the other BLU didn't. He had decided to not get his gloves out of hock. His loss.

Here's a tip to people needing the spell.

Set Bludgeon and whittle his health down. Critical hits break his wings (Either one) and it'll get rid of your good chances of getting the spell. Bludgeon pumps 30 tp into the Khimaira, so that'll make him use it faster. Do NOT auto attack, any crit hit again can break his wings. Set Bludgeon, the reason for this is also because bludgeon cannot crit, meaning it won't break his wings. So while you're feeding him TP, you're safely beating him to a pulp slowly and not running the risk of breaking his wings.

I watched my friend learn it from Khim in Caedarva, he used it at roughly 70% HP when he took me out there to try for some cool drops while he learned.

well I learned mine back in the day from the ZNM Khimmy.

it was super easy to farm pops @90, probably a joke to farm them now.
