If you're running the installer with the game already installed, it may be jumping into the uninstall process instead.
The installer does let you choose the path to install to. I've almost never had it installed on the system drive, and shifted the install on my main PC to another drive a few weeks ago. But, as I mentioned, the first time I ran it, it dove into uninstalling - I prevented it from actually deleting the folder contents by renaming it.
The easy thing to do is really to just do that uninstall, and then install the game where you want it. Once it's done, copy your updated folder (and macros, etc) over top of it. It'll do a file check, but should work fine after that.
It's more than just the registry entries to move it. There's also a bunch of .dlls that get registered. It should be possible to move the install then register it for the new location, but the instructions out there didn't work for me either.
Personally though, I'd favor leaving an MMO on an SSD. The somewhat random nature of what data the game needs tends to favor it, versus more linear single player games.
