What do people think is the best current strategy for Vinipata with a smaller group (say, 6-9 people)? Is this as simple these days as just doing a fully buffed 6 person party of Healer, GEO, DDx3, BRD/BLM to sleep adds (and we can do pre-pop COR buffs)? Doom screens and go nuts?
We've usually done the boring SMN AFAC zerg approach, giving the tank only 2 buffs to avoid mode changes from the mob. But I'd like to get a fight done soon with whoever is around on the LS. Having enough of our adequately strong SMNs around in LS is often the most limiting factor for us if just putting together a fight with whoever is on. Also just would be nice to get some variety or use another good method, we've become too set in our ways ;)
We have any available tank (including a good PUP tank), strong melee DDs, couple good BRDs and lots of CORs (including possibility of having them just buff and drop pre-fight), a couple strong RNGs, a couple Idris GEOs.

There's many ways to skin that cat.
This isn't the best current strategy, but might give some insight into a variety of setups you can use.
Low man: Brd/blm, pup, pup, tank with buffs. (that's 4 players, can scale up by just adding more automatons up to 6 players.
Strategy: You want buffs on the tank to keep Vini in the mode that doesn't use the -150 to all stats, and zero debuffs on Vini.
A well geared brd/blm can easily stun doom 2-3 times throughout the fight, the doom is always the 4th ws at the end of Meikyo Shisui, so stupidly easy to time.
Brd sleeps adds, stuns doom, x2 Automatons kill him easily within Overdrive duration with Bonecrushers hitting for 50-60k with a cor pre rolling companion's and beast rolls if you have well geared PUP's.

Yesterday I did a hybrid of that setup for 12 people.
exact same strat along with a 2nd standard blunt damage DD/support party.
Basically, having a good brd able to stun and sleep pretty much opens up lotsa setup possibilites.
You could just use a brd for that, and use a standard blunt dmg melee setup, should be pretty optimal.

Can do it with a single mythic PUP, a BRD, and a COR. Bonus points for someone tanky to pop it and hold it until lullaby goes off. If that person can hold it the whole time to try to cheese the AI, all the better.

I'm also interested in non-Pup strategies.
I'd wager 1-3DD of War, Drk, Mnk with Whm, Brd, Geo and a drop cor can melee burn it quite quickly.
I must have erased any memories of doing that fight from my mind, since I don't remember how we did it other than it was not Smn burn.

Hmm, neat I may just try that! I'm a good mythic PUP, have never been able to come PUP for this fight though - the only HELM we ever do with a PUP is Teles. Alt has the BRD or PR+8 COR (or Idris GEO if my other people do the BRD COR roles). I'll grab a friend or 2 and give that a shot!
PUPs: is Mythic (w/ AM3 up of course) + Overdrive better than Xiucoatl C here? Have both options.

Mythic is 100% better for this. The BRD will be your stunner here, make sure they're prepared for that. I've missed stuns and still won but it makes it risky and take longer than OD will last.

Vini is pretty easy to kill with just BRD COR GEO WHM 2x Blunt DD (WAR or MNK). Can kill it in <40 seconds using SV Bolster and MS. If your DDs are less geared (No Empy +3 no Ody augs)or you want to save MSs for multiple NMs in a row it can be worthwhile to bring a 2nd BRD to do Carols. If you bring double WAR you should be able to kill Albumen (Savage or Upheaval Spam), Vinipata (Loxotic Mace+1 Judgement Spam), Teles (Shining one Impulse Drive Spam), Ony (Savage Spam again) on a single bolster/SV songs in this order. With bolster wearing off towards the end of Teles then Ony is kind of a joke.
Take advantage of Super Revit and Random Deal to reset NITROs for sleeps.

It's chaos out here.. absolute chaos, too much content Dynamis Divergence: Go in twice a week with up to 18 people. ~Two hour time limit to clear as much of the three waves as you can. Tied to upgrading reforged Relic pieces, and each zone boss kill unlocks the ability to R15 a respective REMA type.
Odyssey: Go in once a day with up to 6 people to farm points/gil/exp. Sheols are split into A/B/C/Gaol, with the former three being 30 minute farms of a multi-floor Walk of Echoes zone. Gaol is where you spend points earned in the previous Sheols to fight a boss of your choice with up to 6 people within a 15 minute time limit. Boss kill rewards include extremely powerful equipment, as well as the capability to augment said equipment.
Sortie: Go in once a day with up to 6 people for an hour. Farm points and items used to upgrade reforged Empyrean gear and Prime Weapons. There are two large maps that increase in accessibility as you complete """hidden""" objectives. Total of nine major bosses and eight minor NMs spread throughout. There's some earring rng *** here but just pretend +2s don't exist.
Master levels: Once you have 2100 JP on a job, you can level up via Exemplar Points. Every 5 Master Levels you earn allow your subjob level to increase by 1, up to a cap of 50. These levels start out easy to earn then become completely ridiculous by ML~40.

Taint, f_ck BgWiki. I just tested to see if chatgpt had access to FFXI info. Prompted some Q's I knew the answer to, told it to provide citations for anything it asserts.
and boom. it works

Did anyone ever look into exactly how the rank 10 aketons work?
Does the effect give 10%? 5%? 1%?
Does it only work in party, or does alliance count?
Can the effect stack?
Does it work anywhere crystals drop?

Wish I could help but I know you've already researched a lot of sources. Sounds like how we've had to question everything SE has ever done since ever. Lol "does it work anywhere crystals drop" I bet SE has some hidden ***like that that's as wtf as they are.

Does it work anywhere crystals drop? For what it's worth, jp wiki says that is almost doubles the rate to 20~25%. Also, it claims that the effect only works solo since party size already alters crystal drop rates.

Yeah of course I looked on the jpwiki but that's not really of any value.
With a party of six, yeah there is (almost) a 100% chance at least one crystal drops, but there's 6 chances. It's why I'm asking.
It would be very odd if it stopped working in a party.
I can see that if there's a 20% chance for one crystal solo and 40% chance for one crystal with an aketon on and that is the same as a 40% chance for one crystal as a party of 2, but two can drop. So (how) does it work as party size scales.

What's the best way to get big time hallmarks in Ambuscade?
Is it just crank the difficulty on intense and burn the seals on that, pretty much?

A week ago he was asking what the minimum requred gear to do v1ve is, i dont think he can do VD.
By Pantafernando 2023-04-27 13:37:31
The actual answer is: having a job thats well wanted to join VD groups.
This month in particular, the roles that are always asked in linkshell/yells are RDM, BRD, sometimes WHM.
Having those jobs is a sure way to quickly getting the points
Otherwise, i wouldnt advise doing the lower tiers. Best use of time is improving the job.
I did a couple of N vol2, so painfully i prefer waiting another month with better jobs than struggling this ***

Having the princess job for the month indeed is the ticket to best points.
Practically always the tank. healer. rdm/brd
Offering to play the shittiest jobs gets you stuff. Crazy.

The Sombra Dragon is pretty easy though. I've been doing D for it and VE for intense. I can do VD for V2, but the kill speed is a drag currently.

Doing both is nice, it sucks there are no zones where you can score both KI at once though. (conveniently!)

Practically always the tank. healer. rdm/brd
This month in particular i barely find offers for tanks.
Either eveyrone is fine with DD tanking or everyone has a tank ready

Is there an ideal Walk in WoE for getting Coins/Dice/Liminal?
Next on my list between getting revenge on Provenance Watcher and all this Ambu is getting every Empyrean WS. I have CDC and Fudo so far (and SAM is still 75 atm lmao).
Also when the walks level up to item level, are they still manageable solo with Trusts?
[+]
By Pantafernando 2023-04-27 17:19:27
I guess the one with less foes for WoE. There is one with only one mob to kill.
PW is annoying solo due fetters as they make PW takes very little dmg and he spans a lot of fetters. Ideally at least 2, someone to take care of fetters and another to kill PW
Yes, ive seeing a lot of solos/duos clearing WoE surged, But the thing is, is it really efficient doing it solo? While farming, the question is not if you can do, but how fast can you do

Is Fencer oriented Warrior superior to two handers outside of things like Naegling? What's the 4-1-1 on that?

Outside single wield for Naegling or club, no. Depends on the fight and what the mob is weak to really. Axe is hardly worth mentioning, given the lack of good axe WS options.
