Aluh Jambiya Rare
[Main] All Races
DPS: 1522 DMG:51 Delay:201STR+10 VIT-10 Attack+15Increases critical hit damage
LV 99 WAR RDM THF BST BRD RNG NIN COR DNC

How does this compare to STR Thokcha in terms of DPS?

D:47 De;ay: 190 STR + 11 Attack + 22

Looks like +1 STR, + 7 attack, 10 less delay vs

4 base damage and increases critical hit damage.

Good offhand for high crit rate scenarios?

Curious about Crit damage %, could make it the best offhand potentially.

just in base terms you're looking at Str TOM being 15.47 compared to this being 15.22 base DPS, not a big difference. I'm guessing if the crit damage+ is 5~10% it could potentially replace the Str ToM, even on Stacked WS....not so sure on unstacked (other than evisceration) however.

Still finishing my Str ToM with limited play time, but I would willingly test this if it were already finished. My guess is it might not perform as well in low crit scenarios on DoT, but in high crit scenarios should easily pull ahead.

Edit: After recalling that other daggers with this "Increases critical damage" tag tend to be 10% I adjusted my assumption from 3-5 to 5-10%. I reserve any further judgement on the item though until I either get data on it myself or someone else can post data on it.

At a glance it'd need more than 5% critdmg to be competitive as an offhand. "Base DPS" can be very misleading.

Yeah, that is why I amended what I said. Most items in body/weapon slot tend to be 5-10%, from what I recall, with Neck/ear/ammo usually being 2~5%. Base is misleading without further data, it only shows that it is general speed function in relation to the dmg:delay ratio rather than overall once fstr/pdif functions are calculated (not to mention a good dDex value given the nature of this dagger specificly).

"Increases Critical Hit Damage" on Aluh Jambiya is +3% Crit Damage

Tested on RNG/WAR in Tiny Mandragoras and Bumblebees using a 20 DMG XBow and 10 DMG bolts

Normal Hit: 187
Normal Crit:338
Aluh Jambiya Crit: 345
3% Aug. Byakkos Crit: 345
5% Athos's Body Crit: 350
4% Athos's Leg Crit: 347

EDIT: Byakko's aren't broken :< sorry

Your conclusion is accurate, but your Byakko's value doesn't make any sense as it should also be 345. Did something change in that test?

None of the percentages match what they should be.
The dagger is 2.07%
Byakko is 0.59%
A.Body is 3.55%
A.Legs is 2.66%

338*1.43/1.4=345
338*1.44/1.4=347
338*1.45/1.4=350

You forgot Dead Aim. The only one that's out of line is the haidate, which indicate +1% critdmg instead of +3%.

Hm, seems they did. Everything still fits though.

EDIT: Alright then. Was worried I'd need to see if my Haidate were busted, lol.

Where would the new Aluh Jambiya fall in dagger tiers? I have a DEX & AGI Thokcha and a Triplus Dagger. I plan to get a STR Thokcha eventually, but haven't really had time to go after one.

Would Aluh Jambiya be worth using as a Main/offhand with those dagger choices available? or should I just stick with DEX/AGI Thokcha main and Triplus sub until I can get a STR Thokcha?

Supernal has such high delay. You should make a STR magian for your off hand, and once you have Mandau, STR magian is gonna be your best off hand anyways.

Whats the best offhand for a Twashtar? I'm thinking STR magian? But what position does Coruscanti and Lux hold? What about Asteria / Supernal?

Coruscanti actually holds a bit of weight if your attack is high, and to an extent, if your dDEX vs. the target is just at the right range where you get a massive critical hit rate boost from the weapon. In general, the less you're using the attack and STR from Thokcha, the more Coruscanti will start to win. In general though, these are also cases where you have capped dDEX in the first place (vs. lower level targets) so the two potential winning conditions don't overlap, and it's very difficult for Corus to win on the basis of dDEX and critical hit rate on its own.

On DNC, in Dynamis, I use Thokcha offhand for DCs and Coruscanti for EPs. DNC isn't THF, but at leas in Dynamis, they play similarly.

Supernal is just .. bad.

tl;dr You can't really go wrong with STR Magian, it'll be your best offhand for Twashtar main most of the time.

For Thf and Dnc at what point does Twashtar/Thokcha pull ahead of Thokcha/Thokcha or Aluh Jumbiya/Thokcha?

Not going to build Empy/relic.

Currently building str dagger.
I have triplus dagger, twilight knife, Rapidus sax(lol) and can buy Aluh Jambiya.

What is the best combo for THF?
Mostly looking for dyna farm and random crap in abyssea (abyss not relevant much for my dilemma).

Edit: i have Oynos knife too. Is not as Hax as i expected in terms of proc rate (i though was considerably high). i could switch that with thf knife every time haste wears off. But the haste that it gives, is it magical, JA or gear? Or i shouldn't rely on Oynos that much?

95 twash/STR > STR/STR.

STR/STR > 90 twash/STR (not by much as I've been told) > Aluh/STR.

90+ Twash/STR > 90+Twash/Aluh (again, marginal).

This would surprise me greatly, at least on THF.
