Quitting Sale - Everything AH -25%

Well after 6 years I've had enough. It's time RL claimed me back again. So if you want some decent gear for 25% less than the AH then come and see me hanging out in Rolanberry Fields. The gil from the sales is going to a friend so she can finish off a relic.

Well as already pointed out, the gil is going to a friend, the same friend that I already handed out my Herald's Gaiters and Hermes Sandals to. If she didn't have a Novio Earring already she'd have been given that too.

As for what I'm selling, to be fair all the 'good stuff' has already gone, I priced it to sell quickly and I've shifted nearly 40m of gear today alone. My friend will be a lot closer to the G.Horn she's been working on for a while next time I see her!

Whatever is left should be showing up in the bazaar on my profile, it was earlier and having just checked it, I think it's accurate. As I said, all the better stuff has shifted already. Anything that's still left to sell towards the end of the month is going to be NPC'd or I'll just hand it out to a newbie and at least they can get some use or a bit of gil from it.

As for RMT....I've never bought or sold gil, and have no plans to either. My account has been 'clean' since the day I first bought the game back in 2006 and I plan to keep it that way. I won't lie, the thought of selling it did cross my mind for a day or two but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I spent 6 years building up the account and it doesn't feel right to pass it onto someone else (thanks for the few PM's offering to take over the account but it's going to the wall when once the payment for this month runs out!)

As for who I am? Most won't remember me, that's fine with me, usually means I wasn't being a douche most of the time I hope! I started out called 'Gra', then moved to Ragnarok (changed name to Gralka cos someone already had 'Gra' taken), onto Siren, onto Carbuncle (changed name to Teraflare cos it sounded a bit cooler!), onto Odin and finally back to Bismarck earlier this year. I've had fun, and SE has had enough money from me. The majority of my friends that I came back to Bismarck for all quit within a few months of coming back and it's not been the same since.

Totally never going to sell my stuff off if I ever decided to quit. 1st off people mostly come back 75% of the time, and then what do you do? For me the few bucks you'd receive is not worth the time/effort put into playing your character. Even when accounts used to be worth something I never considered it. To each their own though I suppose. I know my account is gonna fade out when they turn the servers off someday!

sell your account don't give it to "friends" so you can buy something good

Just before I head off to bed, I thought long and hard about the possibility of coming back later on. I took a week off to see how I felt (for the first time in 6 years). I didn't want to log back on. The friends I came back to Bismarck for have all quit since I came back - I kept in touch with them while I was server hopping and always promised I'd be back. Then I came back and within 6 months or so they all quit! That about did it for me.

I certainly won't be coming back - I've made sure of that by dropping every single r/ex or ex item in my inventory. Just for good measure I emptied the Porter Moogle of all my stored gear and dropped all that as well. Felt good to NPC my Ridill for 18k too. XD

If I ever came back (which I won't be) there would be literally nothing other than the Ukon on my account. It really wouldn't be worth it. I've made sure of that!

I'm just happy to be helping a friend out. I could have just quit with all my gear but it wouldn't have felt like I'd really quit...this way it does!

Teraflare's a HQ guy IRL; he's got a family and responsibilities, etc.

He's not giving his gil to a friend in order to get in her pants. He's doing it just because he's a nice guy.

For those of you reading this that haven't had the pleasure of hanging out with Teraflare at some point in your FFXI career, you've missed out! He's one of the few truly trustworthy and non-emo people who've stuck with this game. You'll be missed, Teraflare!

1st rule of Quiting FFXI, Don't get ride of anything because you could come back any time as long as server are still running.

I droped all my gear and gave away 10 mil back in 2010 lol. Then came back and went "awww ***" lol. Moral of the story, never drop rare/ex gear, even if you think you're done. Iz just dumb lol.

'She' lives in the US, I live in the UK. We're both married, I'm in my mid-30's and she's early 40's. We both have kids. It's 110% nothing to do with that. I'm not a sex-mad teen anymore! Hevans - if you hadn't have been on another server you'd have been in line for a payout. We had some 'Epic' times together! Good memories! I wish the game had stayed the way it was in some respects.

Anyway, I DC'd during the night and I still have quite a bit of junk, found a few more pieces and put them in Bazaar when I logged back on. Note to self - check your D.Box before you say you've put it all in bazaar...some of that's already gone anyway having just checked. I'm fairly positive I still have a few items worth selling on a mule so I'm checking that now. Might be a few more things going in my bazaar later.

I know people think I'll come back sooner or later. I'm not. I'm really not. There isn't anything I can think of that would bring me back.

When I quit on my first account, I gave all my gil away, put on my favourite town gear and headed to Selbina, /sat on the water's edge and dc'd.

In all seriousness you should have offloaded the account for a few hundred while you had the chance, if you are truly committed to quitting and have got over the soul sucking germ that is ffxi 2~300 quid in your back burner is a dam sight better than than letting it fade away into cyberspace! Rollback and get your r/ex ***back before its too late!

Assuming the game has any redeeming qualities anymore.

Is it really necessary to announce to the world, people are quitting or people feel by announcing you're quitting this game, people might show they care about you.

The only thing that's surprised me is that it took you this long to find something negative to say Angeleus. Oh hang on, I didn't see the 2nd post in the thread, scratch that. Feel free to move along and troll someone else. Appreciate the free bump though.

The point of the thread was to tell people I was selling gear on the cheap, not to make any kind of deal about quitting. I think you just missed the point of the thread entirely. I'm not posting up some huge chunk of rose tinted 'I've had the best time and I'll miss you all' epilogue. I'm just letting people know I'm selling my stuff if they want it cheap.

Got Voiddust pouches in bazaar for 17k (5k under AH last I checked). I have no shortage of them either. 80 left as of a couple of mins ago. Feel free to come and make the most of it!

As I said above in a roundabout way, this isn't the quitting equivalent of a winners acceptance speech at the Oscars in terms of quitting. I can't do with that, it annoys me (as I obviously said a while back) but I don't see anything wrong with a couple of lines that state that I'm quitting and I'm selling all my gear off on the cheap...it's not quite the same! XD
