All FaP ring allows is maybe 1 or 2 other weapons that don't really increase my damage. Actually full Havels is less defense than my 3/4 Giants + Big Hat combo. It's also heavier. GFWL said no fun allowed after all. ._.
The magic damage I face is usually a combination of Homing Crystal Soulmass, Pursuers, Wrath of the Gods (a ***ton), and various enchantments.
The most damaging/annoying by far is the Wrath of the Gods spam and enchanted weapons. Majority of them I just say *** dodging because I can kill them before they kill me. So instead of using Crest shield, I just wear the Big Hat for a nice MR boost. Was I the only one that thought of Attack on Titan theme when fighting against Sif with the music you hear fighting him??
