The forest and Dark Londo are full of gankers. On either side of the fence. Invaders have absolutely no trouble double teaming the person they invade even if they're solo.
Mind you, I just destroy their pathetic *** before back up can arrive anyway. Generally, gankers are terrible at PvP and can't last long one on one against a moderately skilled player, such as myself.
I think I'm moderately skilled anyway. :<
EDIT: Oops, paged! Have a Crossbreed Priscilla image from the art book! Which I really really really want. ;-;
I hear ya, hell I'm not what I'd considered skilled at the PvP (Skilled enough to womp a 3 man tag team with some well placed parry/riposte and Lloyd's Talismans) but when I'm just chillin lookin for some 1v1's I don't get it.
Also, I realize I could most likely remedy that by using the Arena in the DLC. Unfortunately I do not have spare cash to use on my own personal DLC, since I'm having to use it responsibly (DAMN YOU RESPONSIBILITY!!). Anywho, haha, I really love this game.
Darksoulsmindeye, TheHavik, BarneezyJones and Seraphim17 are rather good too. Barneezy's definitely jumped to my top spot though. He's a generally awesome guy and hosts fight clubs all the time.
I'm not fond of the Arena. The idea is great, but it always takes me AGES to get a match going. And 2v2 or Death Matches take even longer. -.-;
Yeah, I heard the Arena takes forever. The Forest Hunter Covenant gives you a LOT of PVP. I generally like it, though my current PVP Character needs more HP. I like to tank hits & Trade/Parry people. Sometimes they just have a good damage output haha. 1400HP isn't enough.
Also, I have a lot of love for Longsword/Broadsword type weapons.
Chaos Blade and Silver Knight Straight Sword (dat R2 is insane) for me. Occasional appearances from Falchion/Scimitar, Ricard's Rapier and Dragonslayer Spear. Trying out the Gold Tracer too.
I really wish I could make a viable Priscilla's Dagger build and bleed everything to death, but it's pretty much impossible to do. :<
Go to the Gaping Dragon's area. Drop your soul sign at the firepit inside the sewers, and murder the slimes that spawn on the ceiling over and over. Humanity will increase your drop rate, 12,500 souls per Dragon, and you'll farm a ton of large titanite shards (4k ea) to improve your gear from the slimes. Combustion 1-shots them.
Can do the same at the Blight Town bonfire and kill Quelaag while killing slugs who drop large/green shards far more often. And the greens drop in sets of 5 too.
Blighttown is much more of a pain than The Depths. I was going to suggest taking fire tempest, firestorm, or w/e into the painted world of ariamis and killing all the phalanxes in one go. That's a slightly more advanced farm, but with the Silver Serpent Ring you farm roughly 12k souls per run, and it takes less than a minute each run.
Pyromancy has no dependant stat. You could Level it to +15, go find Quelana, and make it Ascended +5. Never level another stat, ever, go into most of the boss fights and lob fireballs at everything and win.
It's a really nice thing to have, but INT helps it in no way. Only sorcery, and a specific talisman for faith (Velka's, I think?) Where the higher your int is, the more miracles do.
EDIT: You'd still need the required faith level to actually use the spell. But my INT 50 Faith 30 Char uses that set up and does really well.
Idk, I feel that pyromancy and to an extent chaos weapons are really cheap.
You don't need stats to make them more powerful, because their power comes from humanity. It's just silly to me, because then you can put everything into hp/stamina instead.
It just doesn't feel like a classic job build to me, takes away from it.
I'm currently building a faith ranger, my dream combination in any game, and I absolutely love it so far.
I don't have an issue with it, because most of the spells are easy enough to dodge or roll through, and on NG+ it can have a really lackluster result. The only spells that are remotely dangerous are Firestorm, Chaos Firestorm, and Fire Tempest.
I REALLY hate pursuers. Sweeeeeeeeeeet Jebus those kill me so much haha.
Elemental Weapons got nerfed with the update to the consoles, as well on the PC version. They perform a WHOLE lot worse. Plus practically everything has high fire resistance.
Most people dislike the fact that it requires no stats to be used effectively, and I can understand that completely. But I look at it as a user friendly way of introducing magic (Lol, Fromsoft and User friendly) before introducing how stats affect catalysts/talismans and at which level you need to change it out for a better one.
While on the subject of soul farming: A very fast method as well is spamming kills on the Phalanx group of undead in the Painted World of Ariamas.
I get about 1.2 million souls an hour with the following method but you need to have the following conducted:
You need to have the front door opened from the inside. From the start the door is blocked off. Having the Symbol of Avarice and Covetous Silver Serpent Ring that increases soul gain is also a given.
Other equipment:
Second Ring: Ring of the Sun's Firstborn
Left Hand: A pyromancy flame hand
Right Hand: Your appropriate talisman for your level/ and a sword that weighs 3.0 (I use a Balder Sword +15, but that's obviously overkill.. It's going to be used for one Hollow pawn)
Attunement slots: Wrath of the Gods, Homeward, and Power Within
Set your homepoint to the bonefire at the start of the map after you open the front gate. Have your sword out to swipe the one hollow that will be in your way, as you swipe, swap to your talisman.
Cast a power within with via pyromancy, run up to the phalanx guarding the pillar, 1 wrath of the god spell will one shot them all, sometimes two depending if they spread out. With overkill bonus, you will get about 12,036 souls per kill session. Cast Homeward, rinse wash repeat.
Once you get the hang of things, each kill cycle will take you about 30 seconds.

This is one of the methods. Can do it with the AOE's for Pyromancy, as well as the two-handed R2 from the Dragon King Great Axe, Obsidion Blade, and maybe the tail weapon from the Eternal Dragon in Ash Lake. A VERY good farming method. Probably the cleanest. I haven't tried it on NG+ or anything though.
Fire Keeper Soul (Purely luck. Entirely depends on the attacks the ghosts decide to use)
Composite Bow
Parrying Dagger
Key to the Seal
Very Large Ember
Titanite Chunks
Green Titanite Shards
Consumable Souls
Cracked Red Eye Orbs
Brigand Set
Spider Shield
Red Tearstone Ring
Than I jumped off the tower to my death, even though I survived the fall with the roll. Damned lightning breaths. :<
The Hiltless was pretty quick to get. I tried to get the "easier" one first, but it's a hell of a run and pincer attacks with magic and respawning enemies everywhere!
The 'hard' method involves fighting an enemy that will one shot you if you don't have your shield up. And that will heal back to full if given the opportunity.
HP regeneration is VERY powerful in this game. it's very plausible to just pop on some HP regen equipment and recover in a safe area instead of using a grass.
Magic is very powerful too. I'd say it's a little too powerful if you ask me, there are only a few shield that'll block more than 30% of a spells damage, and armor doesn't upgrade (not like I'd change though. Binded Cross set looks soooooooo cool!) so magic defense is pretty pitiful.
Has anyone tried 4kings on NG+ or higher in Dark Souls since the patch? I'm struggling. Only one would attack you at a time before unless you messed up, maybe with a second joining in but now with the elemental damage nerfs I can't kill one anywhere near in time before a second spawns. No problem... I can just keep an eye on the other(s) and dodge everything, absolutely fine.
EXCEPT they all attack me relentlessly (Gwyn style) and all at once. If there are 4 up, which there tend to be since I have to spend so much time just dodging, at least one stays at ranged and SPAMS the homing missile (literally spams... had 3-4 projectiles at once following me before). The others charge me constantly so I'd have to melee 3 at once.
Was it always like this in NG+? It was nowhere NEAR this difficult in NG as they were far less aggressive... wondering if the patch changed it, since all videos I've seen have fairly passive Kings.
Haven't had any trouble whatsoever on anything up until now on NG+ but this is annoying >:|
