I finally got a piece of equipment with regen on it but the dark souls wiki is poorly designed. Is there any other enchanted gear noteworthy you guys can think of?
Sanctus? It's the only one with active regen on it, a few weapons heal HP as you land hits, and the Ring of the Evil Eye heals HP as you kill. All are really miniscule. There is the Replenishment Miracle. Other than that I can't think of anything else.
Butcher Knife is the only viable (and often overlooked) weapon that restores HP. Server is far too weak and Smough's Hammer requires too much stat investment and weighs a ton. As long as you're not getting hit too often, there's a fair chance it'll keep you topped off.
Sanctus has niche for Power Within builds. Otherwise, it's mostly useless.
Ring of the Evil Eye is only decent before you get other better rings.
Not too horrible really without that blacksmith. I beat the game the first time using black knight's sword +5 and shield +5
but you should have something divine made to make Nito a joke since it will stop his skeletons from resummoning and molesting you. other than that yeah you can beat the game without andre
There's a few dropped items that do Divine damage; Silver Knight Spear, Crescent Axe if you want to kill Patches early in the Catacombs (or go back to Firelink and buy it from him before Nito), Astora's Straight Sword, Grant, or you can downgrade the Occult Club to a Divine Club +5 if you're desperate. I'm sure there's more but that's off the top of my head. The skeletons are weak enough that you don't really need the stats to fully use the weapons to take them out.
Not really directed at you, Josi, just quoting you for context so I don't look like I'm randomly rambling about Divine weapons lol. Just so people know that there's options without Andre.
Andre does drop the Crest of Artorias when you kill him so you won't be missing out on the shortcut either.
If the game continues accelerating in difficulty at this pace (no idea if it does) I'm guessing by NG+7 this method will have trouble one shotting them with Chaos Fireball
If you're quick about it, you can cast in Crown of Dusk and switch to Symbol of Avarice before the souls tally. It's also a neat little general tip for getting more souls from bosses - as soon as you kill them, throw on SoA and Covetous Silver Serpent Ring. It takes ~5 seconds for the souls to drop, so you've got time to swap them in.
Dark Souls' director reveals the pendant's true purpose "I actually had a little bit of an intention to play a prank.”By: Jeffrey MatulefPublished: Monday, 5 November 2012
Upon beginning a new game in Dark Souls you're offered the chance to pick a starting "gift" to help you on your travels. These range from very useful, like a master key that can unlock any door, to forgettable, like 10 fire bombs. The most mysterious item was the pendant as its in-game description read, "Trinket. No effect, but fond memories comfort travelers."
Upon Dark Souls' release, game director Hidetaka Miyazaki said in a Famitsu interview that he'd pick the pendant or nothing.
For the last 13 months fans have clamoured to find out what hidden purpose it had. The Dark Souls Wiki devoted 1600 words to speculating as to its true effect. Only now has Miyazaki addressed this most mysterious of items.
“When it comes to the pendant, I actually had a little bit of an intention to play a prank,” Miyazaki said in an interview with IGN.
That's right. When it said it had "no effect," what it meant was, "no seriously, it has no effect."
Given how insanely obscure Dark Souls' dense systems are, Miyazaki knew fans would go crazy figuring it out, so the whole thing was just a giant red herring to keep people guessing. Well played, Miyazaki-san. Well played.
Its been about 10 months since I last played, but I loved the game! Let a friend borrow it recently so once hes done I'm getting the DLC. Anyone have any viewpoints on the moonlight greatsword and sorcory/ a few miracles? I generally won about 1/2 of my pvp matches as long as I wasn't stupid, but wondering how things like this are holding up, seems everyone wants to do a melee build.
Ahhh the pendant news is a major bummer, I remember scanning a fairly large thread on the dark souls wiki speculating over its purpose, it was an interesting read. I guess it's nice to know for sure though even if the news is bad
Found this video, it's a Japanese guy editing in all his deaths in a collaboration, and it's quite funny to watch so I thought I'd post it for others to view.
Asylum Demon can *** break that balcony if you stand around too long? I never knew that...Man I know this game is hard but it's so merciless on new players.
Went to Texas Renaissance Festival a couple of weekends ago and saw this dude running around. <.<; He wouldn't join our party to go keel stuff. Le sigh, and I ant him to go dashing off and kill himself just like in the game.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SIGN IN. You are allowed to make anonymous edits. Please be respectful and only edit the workbook if you intend to add yourself to the list. This is not a universal member name > gamertag list for entire site. Only list your name if you own Bloodborne, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls I, Dark Souls II, or Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, or plan to, this way members of the site can coordinate playing together, matchmaking, etc.
After you click the link, the only thing you'll need to do is click "EDIT IN BROWSER", then add your FORUM name, then the gamertag/username for the platform you play the game on. Please do not copy and paste a cell, this will cause borders to look weird and I'll have to open it up to fix it.
