When doing content like the new Tenzen fight, what WS do you favor? I was using last stand but even when I modified my set for high r acc I was getting a lot of misses or 1 hits. Would requiescat be the better choice here?

I haven't done Tenzen fight yet, but if your issue is acc, last stand gears should have higher acc than req because:

1. Higher marksmanship skill

2. IL119 gun v.s IL117 sword

3. Reforge AF has tons of racc AND good WS dmg, but I don't recall melee gear has that much acc and good WS dmg(I may be wrong on this one, maybe they added new high acc melee gear recently)

It really depend on your current gear set, but before I took a break last time, Last stand had much higher acc from gear/skill than req. If your last stand can't hit and your last stand gear/buff is right, fat chances are your req may not hit too.

It's also possible that his SP2 was up and you didn't notice.

Preludes? Some vd battlefields are just insane with evasion, though I don't personally know Tenzen as I haven't touched new content at all.

Actually if his buff is melee buff, maybe his req may* ended up having higher acc than last stand.

Otherwise last stand is usually more accurate if both using optimal/close to optimal sets.

Yeah we were in a melee buff situation. In a full melee acc set my acc was around 66% with an 11 hunters (on VD, acc was around 90% on D). I couldn't really get preludes because I needed to land haste samba and steps on Tenzen. I've been full time RNG for like the last 6 months and I wasn't sure what would be best for a WS here (although I'm pretty certain WF was a bad choice as he seems to resist magic). When my LS landed with full TP return my numbers looked decent (1200ish compared to 1400 - 2200 from the other DD) but far too often I got a low TP return with about 400 dmg leading me to think my racc was a problem. I tried to swap in racc where possible on my last stand set but I ended up missing a ton on the VD. I know what you mean about the SP2 that causes WS to miss or hit for 0 but that happens early in the fight and is only about 30 seconds I think. My acc issues happened throughout the fight.

Idk your gear set, so you either have to calculate both of your WS acc + buffs, or parse your WS avg for both.

You can also consider exen if nothing works. It's B+ skill plus IL119 daggers.

How up to date is the gear sets on guide? Is blood mask still best quickdraw?

For recast purposes yes, there isn't anything else, otherwise mab remains the only stat to consider.

You can also get some minor macc with your QD augment, if you can bother.

Hgafircian+1 hasn't been updated to +2 on guide.

Also I have a light earring auged with crit hit rate. Would that be a better one to use than either the standard acc ones?

Not likely. Single wielding if accuracy isn't capped, Bladeborn/Steelflash earrings, if it is, Brutal/Trux earrings; dual wielding Brutal/Suppanomimi, or heartseeker/dudgeon earrings if you don't have Suppanomimi.

And none of Corsair's regularly-used weaponskills are crit-based.

Also, may want to add Lanun Frac +1 as the alt/step-down (depending on situation) from Mirke for Quick Draw for damage.

Edit: also, just noting, trying to help. Altana knows I'm not putting in the work to update this.

Just been testing out the new Death locke gun
Gear:
Chaoyant Staff
Lak. Hat +1
Stoicheion Medal
Novio Earring
Friomisi Earring
Demon Ring x2
Lanun Frac
Gunslinger Cape
Aquiline Belt
Lak. Trews +1
Lanun Bottes

Fire shot on Mandies in West Sarutabaruta

Death Penalty : 2954dmg
Death Locke: 2011dmg
Pulfanxa: 1986dmg

What Rank is your Pulfanxa? When I equip that gear, my Rank 10 Pulfanxa keeps out-damaging the Death Locke by 41 points of damage each time.

Pulfanxa 1986 vs. Death Locke 1945

Edit: Also, swapping Thaumas Head in place of Lak. Hat +1 is getting me 2008.

According to the math from another discussion:

A D 113 gun with 10 MAB such as Vanir or Pulfanxa R15 C can beat Deathlocke for QD, a D113 gun without MAB on it can't beat deathlocke for pure QD dmg.

His Pulfanxa is probably path A or B.

Deathlocke is a nice gun, but all in all it's only good if you:

- can't get Vanir
- haven't finished your Puflanxa(or can't)
- like me you hate Skirmish and thus can't bothered to *** with a Hgafircian+2

it all depends on what you want to invest on since it's pretty much all money(except Vanir). They're all good guns.

You forgot the most important part:

- if you want an actual Hexagun because SE has shafted us on true quality Hexaguns since day one.

(Also, I'm w/ Seha. I did 5 skirmishes 4-5-4 or 5-5-5 this past week and I didn't get one key item and only got 5 wings. What. Horse. ***. Not wasting time on a weapon too.)

Personally I'm still dragging my feet and using Donderbuss because I get asked to play corsair very little these days and any money spent on any of these is gil taken away from Death Penalty (~12k/30k as of posting!)

Or you that you find recycle on cards to be a nice feature, and you possess all zone clears making it a relatively cheap 119 for one to obtain? Oh and that you like Hexagun models and delays. <--my reasons for having made one.

That was my point!

Hexaguns were so trumped up (hah!) by SE with the release and then went nowhere.

IMO Hgafircian+2 isn't worth it unless you have it already, I was messing with Puflanxa on spreadsheet earlier and I got Puflanxa path A DPS very close to WSD+10% D123 Hgafircian+2 for melee TP+WS situation on tojil level target. Hgafircian+2 is almost always behind when shooting too.

So yeah, you need very good luck to get good augment, it's only good for melee and not THAT far ahead for melee either.

Bit the bullet (...why can't I avoid puns on the corsair forum?) and made myself a Deathlocke to play with until I finish off my Alexandrites.

Fun little toy that, in my opinion, is going to serve you best when considering how Corsair is currently deployed in endgame.

Same, I went ahead and got a Deathlocke and I'm perfectly fine with it given how I use COR. If/when I get Vanir to drop I'll switch to that. I have a Hgarahiohtgoewijf +1, but it's really not my priority for Skirmish upgrades given the rarity of upgrade KIs/wings.

I am very rarely called on to shoot. More often I'm /WHM and helping out and haste/-na, Dia II+Light Shot, and I don't even have DD rolls/songs on myself a lot of the time (I will typically drop Evoker/Caster on mages, for instance). In the rare situations where I do shoot, like COR/DNC on Ceizak delve boss, standing back and spamming shots with a low delay 242 skill gun is just fine.

Mages doesn't need caster, the only job that'd need caster is COR/WHM itself lol.

Unless your group's Whm, Brd, Sch, Rdm, anything else with haste and dia II are extremely incompetent there is no reason to be doing /whm ever on cor in my opinion. I shoot or am /dnc meleeing on every single event that i am being cor in and usually bust out a decently significant chunk of the parse. Obviously this is assuming you are putting in the effort to gear yourself beyond the basic "I have my hat let me do rolls" setup. Speed up the damage = faster kills = easier events.

AA/DM- Cor/Drg doing at least 15-20% of the dmg.
Delve I- Cor/Dnc TP + WS + Haste Samba + Box Step much more useful
Delve II- Cor/Rng Again doing a good 15-20% of the dmg if not more.

I wouldn't shoot in Yorcia personally. That zone is melee setup and COR should just melee with other melee.

Edit: COR should melee in all 3 delve 1 zones too, making deathlocke even more meh. I use R15 path A gun most of the time because *** skirmish. Extra +15 STR also increase melee DPS and quite a nice alternative to skirmish gun.

I'll have to get a 119 gun at some point, COR has hit the back burner for me right now, I left it with the eminent gun, how much difference does the ilvl and marksmanship skill equate to in ranged accuracy and QD damage?
