We just hit 132 last night so I'll run scoreboard next time and let you know. :) Incidentally I did talk them into sam + allies instead of hunters + allies. We are getting indi-precision and indi-torpor on top of all those madrigals so acc wasn't an issue at 131.

I was hoping to see the string of WS that make up the 5 step SC and all their damages, but anyways.

Rana -> Shoha -> Fudo -> Kasha -> Shoha -> Fudo = light

Rana -> Shoha -> Fudo -> Kasha -> Rana -> Fudo = darkness

Kasha -> Shoha -> Fudo
Fudo -> Kasha -> Shoha -> Fudo
Shoha -> Fudo -> Kasha -> Shoha -> Fudo

all also options for those without Koga or don't want to use rana for whatever reason, or if you can't do a full 5step because monster HP or other melees are dumb

you know how to math, damage is as you'd expect for each individual weaponskill. losing 1k on a weaponskill is meaningless when you gain 10k or more for the SC step it helps generate, however. if your solo SAM isn't capable of replicating this with a Koga or Tsuru, they should reevaluate their choice to play a DD and go do something else. Sure, you're losing damage by not capping attack with Chaos Roll. This is, however, assuming you aren't using a GEO to make the difference smaller and is ignoring the large SC damage bonus from multistep that offsets the loss of dmg from each individual weaponskill.

Hrmm, I assume lower magic defense bonus (malaise) works on SC damage right? Could be a thing.

no, skillchain damage is not affected by magic defense, only resistances and straight mdt, and the resistances need to be quite high for them to do anything negative. lv3 damage mirrors the closing WS damage plus magic damage+ and 16% for SC bonus III, it's then multiplied further based on its place in the chain and its level.

2step 100%, 3step 150%, 4step 175%, 5step 200%, 6step 225%

Allies roll adds a further multiplier. SAM has 16% on its own, adding a 3 would make it 36% and adding an 11 would make it 41%.

So final SC damage = (ClosingWSDmg * (SClvl/stepmultiplier) * (1 + SCbonus/100) + Magic Damage)

a lv 3 SC thats 4th step off of a 5k WS would look like this:

5000 * 1.75 * (1 + 41/100)

5000 * 1.75 * 1.41 = 12337 damage before resistance and ilvl bonus

Ilvl and mob resistance is factored in like so: http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/108199-Random-Facts-Thread-Other?p=6144154&viewfull=1#post6144154

12337 * 1.3 = 16038 final 4th step SC damage on a target with no MDT-

for a 6th step SC:

5000 * 2.25 * 1.41 = 15862

15862 * 1.3 = 20620

With Sengikori:

5000 * 2.25 * 1.41 * 1.25 = 19828

19828 * 1.3 = 25776

higher damage WS:

7500 * 2.25 * 1.41 * 1.25 = 29742

29742 * 1.3 = 38664

needless to say, you get much more out of 5stepping your SCs with SC bonus than you would 2step SCing over and over again with slightly stronger WSs (assuming your attack isn't so low that Chaos is raising your WS dmg output by 3k+, in which case I'm not sure). The cumulative bonus in SC damage over the course of 5 SCs in a single chain is quite a massive increase in damage.

99k on Wopket can be reproduced with +50% damage from monster weakness and a strong Koga enhanced Fudo on a slashing weak monster. iirc SC Bonus caps at 50%, but I'm not sure if that's still the case.

If someone wants to correct something here feel free, some newer testing may have indicated something different than what's written here.

My atoyac is for other jobs and has different augment (not mab) so for me its either flueret or club for me for offhanding.
Calling the club worthless is a pretty heavy handed dismissal of it when its still useful as Afaina pointed out.

Totally agreed. I play THF DNC too (generally more often than COR) where I get very little out of MAB augment, making crit augment a pretty easy choice for me. So, club works well for me in shooting only scenarios where Leaden is OK - far from "worthless".

Quote:
5000 * 2.25 * 1.41 = 15862

So heres a great example, even at a stage 6 with allies 11(which gives best favor to allies roll) This WS/SC damage combo is 20862.

In contrast if attack is bumped only 20% and you dont have allies roll 11:

6000 x 2.25 x 1.16 = 15660, total: 21660

And this discounts any melee damage bump (minor overall) you might get.

So you have to make sure you are actually capping attack, before moving off of chaos roll.

He's far too skinny for that; he could, however, be a Yagudo Prelate who got some beakoplasty.

For COR/DNC mainly, if I get a good price on Vell. mantle +1, does it fit any build ?

Dread Jupon is all that sticks out the most. Not sure about Windbuffet +1 for a 6-hit WS when dual wielding. Prob better off with Wanion or Chiner +1.

well shadowlord was 20 merits and pretty much noone bothered to do it.
Its 10 merits to do the fight now and I still have to twist people's arm to go do it.
Isn't Kayapa cape an alternative for evisceration cause of dexmod+acc, with 99% acc coming, maybe not

Sheep cape still our favourite mantle despite all the contenders challenging it!
Cavaros is not as awesome for cor as it might be for thf.

mind you they're all extremely close

I saw a COR wielding a Eosuchus club in town, and I was thinking, is that insanity, or "so crazy it might actually work?" It's got magic acc +10 and Magic Damage +100, and it's an all jobs club. Maybe not superior for last stand, but for wildfire or last stand. Also quick draw.

If you have Atoyac with mab you have no reason to use that club. And if you don't have it use it only for ranger fights when using magic ws exclusively.

Ah, just feel a little gimp carrying around a 115 knife (atoyac with magic attack) instead of a 119 weapon on the times I'm on COR, and wondering if the club had any benefit lol

I guessing yes, but does Ice Shot boost the effect of distract? How much evasion down would it add, or how much duration would it add? If frost is on the target as well as distract, will both be boosted? Thanks.

Ugh. Is that why all the pop items seem jacked up in price too, or am I just remembering incorrectly?

Oh, also, SE broke what was a really nice "feature" my wife and I found making her sword in that you could talk to Sanraku and choose the item and get the price and wait there, have as many other friends as you wanted talk to him and get the price, then you could all buy at the same price.

Can't do that anymore either.

What a crock.

Ah well. I need ~2-3 more Nyzul runs, a handful of Alex and my ZNMs. I will not be deterred!
