BLM Spellcast Help

I've recently came back to the game and I've been trying to re-learn the whole XML thing for BLMs Spellcast. But, for whatever reason I'm just not grasping it.

At the moment I literally just have a set for each element...it's an absolutely pain having to go through and update EVERY single element when I get a new piece of nuking gear.

Does anyone have a site that could serve as a "BLM Spellcast for Dummies". Or know of a good all-purpose XML that I could easily edit with my own gear?

Considering picking up Blm again - anyone have a SC that has variables in it so i can compress the amount of lines used for blm spells?

something like

T3>T4>T5

GA's-3 > JA's

AM 1 > AM 2

so you can push a variable and change the spell tier/type cast.

Oh, well that isn't hard to set up, though to be honest, when I played blm, I preferred to just have a few macro pallets with my most used spells and then an area with all the spells organized by element and tier. Since it'd take me longer to smack a macros to change the variables and then hit the cast macro than to just scroll down to the spell itself. Particularly when I need to rapidly change tiers like with VW procs. Heck, typing them out might be faster.

But if you can describe how you'd want it to work, I can make the code for you and if you have a blm xml already then I can look at it or I can provide my ancient one and do a few updates ^^;

I prefer not to macro nuke spells and just use the old fashioned spellcast shortcut commands. It's a personal preference but tbh way faster than changing tier variables and switching thru 8 macro pages.
