Some ppl told me Guildwork Client plugin for windower might be dangerous causing hacks etc, I never used it and when I installed it I got hacked right the day after...

I'm pretty sure FFXIAH wouldn't have it's own page for guildwork if it caused hacks. Also there would be a lot more threads about the issue...

You can only be sure if you read the code line by line, which you can't, so there is always a chance. Moreover, no FFXIAH admin nor guild work encoder came here to reply. Could indicate the following:
1- They are not sure. 2- Yes, it's dangerous. 3- No it's not dangerous but, they didn't see the post. It was safe enough for Windower to accept it as a plugin. FFXIAH uses it for a variety of features on this site as well. It's pretty safe to say that it is safe to use. You should always take the steps needed to keep your account safe though. I think I even remember Scragg saying he went over the source line by line before he would accept to support it on this site.
With open source apps it's important to consider that anyone who can code can add malicious code to the most harmless program, turning it into something more dangerous than a virus, since it will be not detected as a threat and will be disguised into being something useful.
Keep that in mind. Edit: By that I meant: Only download things from the original programmer website.

There is no reason to believe Guildwork plugin is dangerous. The most damaging thing someone can do to you is find out your Guildwork password and use remote chat to talk as your character (premium users only), however if people are getting your passwords you probably have bigger problems unrelated to Guildwork. Scragg has access to the code base and can vouch for anything.

I'm really sorry :( OP was actually smart to ask if it was safe or not. I'd much rather someone ask if a program is safe than just blindly load something they know little about. Lord knows it'd save me a ton of headaches if more people were like the OP.
