I kind of find it strange that Jedi would get married, this alone goes against a tenant of the Jedi code. Granted I've not read any of the newer content, but mythos regarding Jedi shows that ove tends to cloud the mind, hence Aniken's turn towards the Dark Side. His marriage to Padme wasn't the cause, but it was the beginning.
I could see the academy starting up again as well as Han being on the Senate or Chancellor even.
Whatever it is, looking back at some of what Disney has produced in relation to more adult styled films, I can see this doing very well, but damn sure not a movie every 2-3 years well, that's just overkill.
A live action show would be nice, I heard LucasFilms was starting this, but fell through.
I for one dont mind about disney buying it out, i would love more star wars movies becuase i am a crazy fan about them no hate love my jedi and sith. And for the guy who mentioned mark hamill. Did you ever read Fate of Jedi book series ? Luke was in his 60's han was 70 the characters were older, and the plot and story was amazing. It makes perfect sense to bring carrie fisher and mark and harrison ford, they aged for the roles perfectly. Only sad thing about Fate of the Jedi is chewbacca has been dead for a while :( F'ing yuzan vong *** swords !!!
And you couldn't have a story about Luke without Mark Hamil reprising his role.
The only way they could do this in a way I'd enjoy, is to make the movie take place 30 years after, so the actors look like they've aged the correct amount.
This is what Die Hard 4 did.
If not, then I'd prefer it to be the extended universe or KOTOR.

yeh the books dont start for a decade or 2 after the finale - so they would all be older
I just cant comprehend sellling your life long work for money you obviously dont need which includes one of if not the most popular movie series in history. Disney isnt excatly known for great movies and im not talking about cartoon/animation.

The jedi getting married is part of Lukes reforming of the order, he realizes that the reason it causes jedi to fall to the darkside is because they never learn how to deal with such emotions. Instead they were sheltered and when those natural human emotions manifested they would have no idea how cope with it. The same concept is applied to Revan and Bastilla in the KOTOR lore.

I think Disney makes some great movies.
Pirates of the Caribbean being a good example.
The Avengers I believe is distributed by Disney if that means anything too :D (i just know that the Disney logo appears at the end credits)
Also... maybe they'll do something like Pixar. Keep the Lucas name and fund movies with some influence.

They bought Marvel pretty recently iirc. Iron Man 3 will be distributed by Disney too.
Star Wars is allready a MASSIVE thing, I really doubt making new movies will make or break it.
People can just chose to ignore them, as most people do with all the books\games.

I've not read any of the books, have played KOTOR 1 and 2 as well as Jedi Academy. If KOTR MMO was on Xbox I'd be playing that instead of FFXI.
For something almost four decades old, it still has a huge fan base around the world. There's a philosophy with it as well as a great storyline that has so many pathsit could litterally go on for many more decades, unless Disney churns out so many movies it kills the line, which I hesitantly expect.
I was a huge fan of the first 3 movies, and followed the books pretty closely for many years.
The last 3 movies were such utter and total HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE *** that there were points I'd just straight laugh at the stupidity in it.
Disney can make decent movies. I don't see this being a bad thing. Hell, a monkey could take over and do a better job than Lucas did on the last 3 movies :/
I still cant get over how old Star Wars is ... 1977... how cool is that. Timeless movie.
And it still remains in the top 40 worldwide blockbusters for ticket sales... that's just 1 film a year doing better than it..epic when you think about how many movies have been around since the 70s.....

Personally, many of my favourite movies are from 70's and 80's, sure the cinematics and FX were not as good but they were not restricted by the politically correct rules of today. Star Wars and Rocky are my favs from the 70's!
All the haters can eat a *** for real, "ohhh it was better back then...blah blah blah"
Big woop, shut up and go back to my little pony or whatever crap you watch and leave me in peace with cool looking aliens running around with lightsabers.
Lucas has always said Star Wars was aimed towards children...did you ever consider that maybe you are the problem and not the movie series that has consistently aimed to please the younger generation?
Don't like it? Don't watch it and read fan fiction if thats what floats your boat.
All the Original cast would fit perfect - as in the 1st book after Return of the Jedi some time has passed and Luke along with his sister start bringing along new Jedi
Also one of the main characters die - wont say who lol.
There's no chance of that happening, most of them are long retired and Mark Hamill hates Star Wars for supposedly ruining his career. Get a grip Mark.
Wait a second... Revenge of the Sith is considered utter ***? That's news to me, it's my second favorite behind Empire and just ahead of Return.
Disney and Lucasfilm are both known for their high budget, high production value, CGI heavy films, and over commercializing the ***out of their IPs, don't see much of a change here.

If Episode I was aimed for children, Lucas completely missed his mark.
It was boring, convoluted and had major plot holes.

While 100% true and the movie is generally garbage it did have this guy, and thats got to count for something.
Its hard to back pedal on a franchise that's 40 years old - what should of happened is for the pre story to be fully understood before even making Starwars Epi 4.
The Hobbit - wont have that problem. And you know the stories before The Hobbit will be made into movies at some point as well..
In fact i would be interested to watch a prequel to Harry Potter

Yes, that totally sounds like something a child would say and not what some nostaligia filled nerd rager would say.

Please do go on ...
I would not go as far as saying it was aimed towards children seeing as the backstory to the entire saga is one of political corruption, manipulation and deception that children would struggle to understand. It would be more appropriate to say they were made to appeal to children with the addition of ridiculous characters like Jar Jar, Ewoks and the flashy lightsaber duels.
