On the bright side....
Thank God the -1 vw gear didnt get replaced.
Spent a lot of gil !
Mitra-1 kinda did :( Think it's safe to assume that people (outside the crazy whms who want to completely min/max) will opt for new marduk head opposed to spending 30-50m+ on a -1.
SCH can't wear Marduk.

At this point the amount of time it takes to get a +1 piece is sounding absolutely insane. You need 50 of those paper things to make a +1 body...jesus. >_>
At least it's not abyssmal drops rates though, I guess? I seems like it's more like AF3 where you just need to get lots of 1 item. It's probably gonna take a few months for people to finish 1 set.

Jesus you crybabies, stop bitching and filling up the thread with your tears so we can see what people are posting about actually doing the event. Someone asks if any Alex dropped and all I read for ten posts is qq about the worst event ever made. Based on what? We have ONE guy on here who's actually done the event so far. Hold back your tears until we have more info. Jesus,ya sound like a girlscout troupe who didn't sell enough cookies to fund their princess tea party.

if you read the title of the thread, it says "Salvage gear discussion" not "Salvage event discussion." Congrats on being ignored.

That all depends on what people want though. /shrug

considering the two primary questions about this event in the last 6 months have been "Whats the gear look like" and "How much Alex is there to be had" I think the topic is appropriate.

With all due respect, the event in which one would obtain the gear certainly relates to the gear itself. Unless you are implying that the OP is only appealing to stats, then Dion's post is not only relevant, but actually brings up a very important point (in terms of the gear).

1st Floor, all ramparts that spawned Qiqirn, Doomed, or Imps from what we killed. Where Hammertime would spawn there is instead 4 ramparts. We killed all 4 and in the next room where you would instead go left to start heading up to next floor, on the right was another rampart that spawned a Qiqirn NM. It dropped a Plan of Primacy. Not sure if required to kill those 4 ramparts to spawn NM rampart :/
2nd Floor, more ramparts, all spawning Ashu Talif Crew. Following normal Marduk path again before you get to the room that normally had the two imps, there is a rampart against the far wall, it spawns a Fomor NM. Not sure what he drops :/ skipped it thinking more talif crew and went to imp room where 6 total ramparts. Came back to that rampart in teh room before and got it to about 30% before timing out.
Didn't get far but was just exploring~ Was fun, PLD fomor were *** though lol. Probably try to find some more people to go with us in the future for these zones.
After reading your testimony I went and did an SSRII run myself. I gathered the following information:
Floor 1
We took the West path. Each rampart spawns 3 monsters - either Doomed, Imp or Qiqirn. The only exception I found was the one just before the portal actually spawned 2 qiqirns in addition to 3 imps. From each monster we obtained the following "cells":
-Qiqirn: Feet/Legs, Head/Neck
-Doomed: Job Abilities, Sub Jobs, Vitality
-Imps: INT, MND
I confirmed that you do in fact have to kill all four of the ramparts in the Hammerblow room in order to pop the NM that you mentioned (Seafarer Pipiroon). It also just dropped Primacy Plans for us.
Floor 2
We again took the West path, leading up to where you'd normally find Dekka. The lamp at the start of this floor provided one of every cell that we found on the previous floor.
The ramparts here all spawn Ashu Talif Crew of varying jobs. We found the following cells although I didn't take note of which ones came from which job:
-STR, DEX, AGI, HP, MP
We killed the Fomor NM that you mentioned on the 2nd floor (Stoneplate Ghalimad, a PLD NM. And it does use Invincible). It dropped Tutelary Plans.
Floor 3
The lamp at the start of this floor provided one of every stat cell.
We came to the central room where you'd normally find that annoying imp NM that runs around everywhere. There are 5 ramparts here. 4 of them wander back and forth in the center of the room, and each one of these ones spawns 3 Psycheflayers. These only unlocked Ammo for us. The 5th one on the south part of the room pops a Psycheflayer NM (Lunatic Psycheflayer) but we timed out before we could kill it.
As we ran out of time I ran forward to explore a bit of the rest of the floor. In the west room opposite of where you'd find Gyroscopic Gears there are 4 ramparts and they seem to spawn gears. But I didn't get to see if any of the gears drop alexandrite. Probably not since nothing else in neo Salvage seems to drop alexandrite. -_- We also did not find a single one.
Crowd control seems relatively easy. Some things resist sleep a bit but nothing is immune. It's worth noting that the ramparts do have an insane aggro range but you you can avoid them with Sneak if you like.

Thank you ^_^ I'm just wondering if weather would affect the agro range of the ramparts? Like it does in BR on the 4th floor. I saw thunder and dark weather in SSRvII, and don't remember ever seeing that before in the previous zones. One rampart I had to run all the way up to agro and some I didn't have to get so close :/ Might just be my imagination though.

Considering they're expecting SMN to get to 600 skill to cap Perfect Defense when they nerf PD, I'm surprised the net gain on SMN skill from this gear is only +5. That still makes the maximum possible SMN skill under 550. (think this brings it up to 547 with all possible gear)

Has anyone won any of the neo salvage zone with just 3 ppl yet ive seen a few who say they have won with 6 on my server as pld ddx3 whm sch they used id much prefer less ppl tho lol

It could (I hope for the sake of Neo Salvage) be a bug of sort. They might've overlooked alexandrite drop rate or forgotten to even implement it aside from (maybe?) pouches off NMs.
Regardless, unless alex drops in a reasonable amount there will be one more reason, beside the overall disappointing value of the upgraded armor, to even do the event.
It may have a shorter life than NINI had for those who are already 15/15.
By Avitori 2012-12-12 19:59:55
With two extra days to prepare for the update I would really hope they didn't forget to put in the alexandrite! And I agree with you I don't see many people too interested in it sadly... I was really hoping for some good news for mythic weapon completion. I remember when SE said something such as "we expect the number of mythics to increase after the salvage update" or something like that during the census. ._.;

Shouldn't kid yourself, they did it because they want neo salvage to be about the armor and old to be about alex.
They want both events to be active still, that's it.

But don't you need the "45 piece" in addition to the base armor to make the +1? That would make both active as not everybody got base armors back when salvage was popular.

Friend said they got 167 from their run where they also killed boss. Multiple lesser pouches and singles.
