I used http://www.ffxiah.com/item/10507/avant-gauntlets-1 until I got these http://www.ffxiah.com/item/10523/phorcys-mitts, while Restraint is down.

What would be considered too much of a sacrifice?

This is going to change based on your overall gear set and what content you're doing, but if the difference is dropping from 26 to 24%, it probably is better to leave them out. It shouldn't be too hard to cap haste with them on though, so it all varies.

Alright, thank you. I'll do without for now until I can get the gear to support it properly.

Looking at Ukon TP Max, i see "Must have 6 store tp armada hauberk", but correct me if i'm wrong;

Ukko (16 store tp) TP return = 16.1 for 2 hits, 15 for 1 hit
(100-15)/5=17

So even if you miss the 2nd hit, you just need 17 tp per hit, which is obtainable with 31 store TP, the restraint set listed has 33 store TP with Armada hauberk (6) and white tathlum. Couldn't you use ravager's orb in that set as well?

The restraint down set is at 41 stp, 18.3 tp per hit, you could probably substitute ogier hands in that set too?

Even if thats true, its presumed that hauberk in the sets does have 6 store tp, and the ammo and hands could be changed, and notes could be made for people with only 4 store tp, given it is the MAX set?

yeah, I think it also was using Ares, hence the need for Phos+1 and Blitz.

I'm using this stuff now as an intermediate set, which also requires 6/3 to hit 14stp:

Windbuffet Belt has dramatically dropped in price on my server - is there a better piece that SoA introduced that I'm not aware of, before I buy it?

The price-drop is because people do WoE more, as you can bazaar the coins now.

I was notified by Tgun about this XML and I would like to make a minor edit:

Just a note for Bokura's XML:
Code
						<if advanced='"$Berserk"="1"'>
							<if BuffActive="Berserk|Attack Boost"><!-- Ukko's Fury Berserk Up Rules -->
								<equip when="precast|midcast" set="Ukko's Fury-Berserk" />
							</if>
						</if>
						<else>
							<equip when="precast|midcast" set="%Spell-$VAR-WS" />
						</else>

This isn't quite obvious, but since $Berserk is MANUALLY set, there is a chance for WS gear to never equip. Specifically, if you don't set the variable to zero and don't have berserk or attack boost active, your set never equips. Why? The $Berserk=1 passes, so the <else> never occurs. However, before equipping Ukko-berserk, there is another check: Buffactive="Berserk|Attack Boost". If the player has neither buff up, then rule never checks and you do not equip Ukko-Berserk.

How to remedy this?
Code
						<if advanced='"$Berserk"="1"'>
							<if BuffActive="Berserk|Attack Boost"><!-- Ukko's Fury Berserk Up Rules -->
								<equip when="precast|midcast" set="Ukko's Fury-Berserk" />
							</if>
							<else>
								<equip when="precast|midcast" set="%Spell-$VAR-WS" />
							</else>
						</if>
						<else>
							<equip when="precast|midcast" set="%Spell-$VAR-WS" />
						</else>

Here, the <else> is within the Berserk=1 rule so that if you don't have Berserk or Attack Boost up, you'll equip the NQ set. You can make that the Berserk set as well, but if you do, you may as well just remove the Buffactive check instead.

I've yet to see other complaints, so great work for this XML.

Hi WARs, I'm scratching my head a little on trying to 5-hit my Maschu +2. (I know, it's not a Ukon, maybe someday)

I don't have NNI gear, but I do have some voidwatch gear and access to the bayld gear, so here I go!

ItemSet 298608

Been TPing in this which is the old standard for a Ukon, but Maschu has 504 delay, so I am interested in 5-hitting it if possible without NNI or neo abjuration gear.

ItemSet 298610

I weaponskill in this set right now.

Thanks in advance

For WS, I'd use rancor back, elemental gorget, karieyh body and legs. You could use a second pyrosoul if you keep your TP the same, can even lose the tyrant's ring.

Too lazy to check the spreadsheets, but for TP, Karieyh body and goading may be better than +2 and Phasmida. Losing half a point of haste for 2 DA and possible dDex/fSTR.

That sounds like good advice but it also sounds like it's for a 6-hit.

What are changes I can make to 5-hit?

Would probably only be viable with Restraint down, and even then, maybe not. You'd need Ogier's hands and either goading or Rose strap.

Also, I made a mistake. You wouldn't need goading in the TP set with Karieyh body. So it would be better than +2.

You'd need +38 TP to have a perfect 5-hit if you WS in +6 STP. You currently have +18 in your TP set, and +6 in your WS set.

Rose + Goading + Ogier give +19, which is 1 STP shy of perfect I believe.

EDIT: Fixed. It's more accurate now. I derped. Been awhile since I've done STP calculations.

W/o NNI you would be looking at something like...

ItemSet 298612

lol

This allows you ws in just rose strap and brutal..

I have this set, beating posted MAX restraint down set. Even with Ambuscade ring, still have it winning by 1 DPS.

Little new to the spreadsheet but yeah, looking for a way to not drop 120m + on Phos belt +1 atm.

Thanks for the sets. I'm assuming it's not worth it to 5-hit while Restraint is up, with my current gear limitations.

They are pretty much equal, actually. The times when the 5-hit would pull ahead are in low-man circumstances where you're able to self-skillchain a lot. But things change as you acquire more gear of course.

Thanks, it's just as well since I feel too lazy to actually make restraint up/down sets and rules

Thanks, good catch. Phos+1 is actually not needed in any of the sets using Phorcys or Quau. helm, which was mentioned in the notes, but I'll change it to avoid further confusion.

We had the oneiros debate awhile back. If someone feels that strongly about dropping 100 HP for a .7% increase to DPS, then go for it. However, I, and many others, feel that this is not the smartest choice to make for such a minimal gain, so I won't be considering it in my guide, especially with the recent adjustments to defense, the embrava/PD nerfs and the fact you can't just click it off or swap to a different peice of gear when you feel you might be in danger.

Probably still gonna buy one anyway.

I'm not one to argue with maths, but I am trying to figure out what makes q. helm beat ares' +1 in the restraint down set. I know the q. has 2% DA on it, but if you go from 2 pieces of ares to 3, aren't you gaining that anyway? That, along with 15 acc and 40 att vs. 20 str and 20 att, it just seems like ares should win there. Haven't run the numbers myself, just eyeballing.

I am not entirely sure what set up was used in the spreadsheet to get that result. It maybe that its using Qilin as mob target with full buffs etc. The issue with these sets is that under different circumstances your sets change.

Every time I have used Ig-Alima as a target with no stalwarts or atmacite buffs using brd cor buffs I have things like letalis pulling ahead etc. It all depends what you plug into the sheet.

The only reason I work my spreadsheet in that way is because I do legion alot etc so I use a high base target on purpose for acc. I parsed 88% acc in legion last night so I need to adjust gear further by swapping food or gear itself.

If you want to try it out for yourself you can use Montens spreadsheet on BGforums its linked to a sticky thread and you can download it off google docs

So, I'm gonna start doing Neo-Salvage. Can someone list which pieces are relevant for WAR max? Ares +1 hands, legs, body, and anything else? Have any of these pieces been outclassed recently? Ukon WAR, Upheaval capped.

I made hands, legs, body, and head. Looks like the only piece that got outclassed so far was the head. And I never did find a use for the feet.

But at the rate things are going... Feels like anything can be outclassed at anytime!

Do tp sets change much now that the new Gaxe's have 504 delay?
