care to remind me what money is useful for again ? Inbefore relics ! I'm using money for sushi lol. No point in stacking. Always good to have some on hand; may just find a good deal lurking around; but for particulars, yea, you're pretty much right.

Interesting. Mnk/nin? or you go mnk/war for that? Wouldn't mind capping legs and h2h if I can do it for free.
'free' is a relative term. Still need about 40 runs per item (assuming an average of 2 +1s per run, less whatever drop from regular mobs if you farm them too), for however much it costs to get the rock for entry. That's 250-300k per rock on my server, for a total cost of about 10 mil per item. Better than the 35+ mil it would cost just buying airlixirs off the AH, though.

Probably. Keep forgetting these can show up in outside pops :p
And yeah, 2 mil, not 10 mil, then.

Thanks for the tip on attack buffs, I think that's what threw me off. Almost lost a pop because I saw 2s on the one before 0s.

The rock are easily farmed as well as the shards so everything is free. I've been farming fracture NMs a lot so that I don't have to spend a lot of plasm on equippement and we never paid for entry. I did buy shards for matamata though, but they are pretty common on lizards around the pop. You can still make some money by selling the beads to cover food. Other than that, no reason to own money at this time. Only reason airlixirs are expensive is it's extremely time consuming to farm them with miasm and impossible to solo NMs so if you kept a couple of millions from the now prehitoric ffxi area you can get quick upgrades I suppose. I would have emptied the AH but I spent all my gil on the skirmish parts lol. I think you need 800 airlixr to cap a single piece, I doubt it leaves room for many people (80M/piece assuming you actually find them on AH w/o overbidding).

If I don't have a REM weapon, what weapon should I be aiming for prior to starting Delve events on Monk? Is the Skirmish H2H weapon preferred to the Wildskeeper Reive one, or is it the other way around?

A skirmish h2h with semi-decent/decent augments will beat Tlalpoloani. But I suppose you could choose whichever seems easier, picking up the now common skirmish items, or farming bayld for the reive.

No, pchan neglects to mention his MNK is basically capped and his BRDs are 99 harp mules.

I use formless strike and spam the matamata delve NM for airlixirs/+1 in low man (can be done with 2 chars and can be spammed non stop with 2 MNKs, 1 BRD, 1 WHM). One single monk using formless strike at the right time will kill the NM in 30sec for ~6 airlixirs with up to four +1. I'm capped on manibazho legs and rigor @ rank 15 so far ! It's definitely a must have. FS used to be very handy in skirmish against ombrils and acuex (cirdas dropped the H2H), also used to be handy to farm alexandrite in salvage on cerberus boss. I also used it a lot on PLD NMs like when we farmed ADL pops. Invigorate is mostly for solo. Everyone and their sister has a WHM mule nowadays.
Sick thanks...

And that he goes with Mdkuser who is equally geared MNK. I had 8 MNKs all doing about 9k regular, 14k crits on it.

Er, I hit it for ~14k on PLD with the Delve sword, and no buffs. I've not done it on MNK but 9k sounds low, unless none of them have Formless Strikes capped/augmented AF2 body.

I haven't been too serious with mnk but with REM being updated, I didn't feel like obtaining plasm weapons for DRK and BLU for an update or 2. Working on Usu +1, was wondering, which feet should I be using in the meantime? Currently have Thaumas nails and Tantra+2.

Where is a good spot to lv up Guard? Mine is at a pitaful 201 right now, but only cause I stopped playing just as they added the improved skill up rate for guard and parry and only came back like a week or 2 before Seekers and only recently started to focus on Monk (started at 121 just before seekers).

Abyssea - Attowha Chasm has Mandragoras that work well. You'll want regen Atmas on. Then, just round up a bunch of them and let them wail on you. Mandragoras in general work well for the defensive skills.

If you have a rdm or sch friend who has an hour (to two, tops),
Abyssea Altep; go round up mandies; Phalanx II or AoE Phalanx; regen atmas.
Have as many mandies as possible, then make sure you can't hit the one you're targeting (behind you, to the side, etc.)
Have mage redo phalanx when necessary, enjoy capped guard in about an hour or two. Use skill up food etc.
Phal II isn't the most potent, but my mule's lasted for 5 mins vs less with accession phal I; so less work on my part

I just finished getting all the gear I want that's new, for MNK. Regarding the legs, is it 980 points to MAX out at 15, or is it like 30>50>80 PER upgrade, or just 80 points to get to rank 3 for example?

30 to rank 1, +50 to rank 2 (80 total), +80 to rank 3 (160 total), etc. Final cost is 5980 total.

You probably went on TP move early. When your attacks are doing 0-1 dmg max, the next TP move is when you pop formless. I've been doing this a majority of the afternoon and haven't had any issues killing the turtle at all. I've had one pop where it TP'd at 2% but its still killable even then.

what I do is use my acc and attack gear and put on after 6th tp move and just eat what ever the 7th tp move is gives me a bit extra time to smash him 9/9 so far have to use 1 hour tho since its only me and whm mule no brd use sushi
By pchan 2013-05-14 01:34:26
If you don't get 30k/hit that's because you didn't wait enough TP moves (nothing to do with GH horn as we use marches and madrigals). Note that if you use minuets+RCB you do 50k/hit but you will have trouble guessing the correct TP move to use FS on. I suggest using impetus and berserk on the previous move to build crit damage & crit rate.

Quote: Raptor delve NM. Me and mdk have been spamming it for airlixir/+1 farm. We determined that
rigor/x/x/mantis
usu+1 / ziel / steelflash/bladeborn
thaumas / tenryu +1 / epona / mars
letalis / anguinius / manibozho / usu +1
(rigor level rank 10 for 12 acc augment , manibhozho rank 15 for 10 acc augment)
paired with : 2x madrigals, RCB as food and alternating focus/agressor
is leading to ~90% hitrate.
that's about 150 acc on the gear, 22 dex so ~160 acc bonus.
no accuracy from food
2x madrigal with relic is 86 acc make it 90 with the AF3+2 set bonus
add 10 acc to cap at 95% hitrate
make focus / agressor be 25 acc bonus on average
you need ~ 285 acc boost to cap. Reversing the acc-eva from your spreadsheets you need the eft NM to be level 99 with 730 evasion.
Verifying:
440 skill == 416 acc
Madrigal: 2x +5 Madrigal should be +71 acc, from Wiki data. Merits as well? Still 5 short of 86.
Focus/Aggressor: Will just call it +25 constant
Gear:
Rigor = 15+12 = 27
Mantis = 10
Usu+1 head = 10
Ziel = 12
Steelflash = 8
Thaumas = 12
Tenryu+1 hands = 10
Mars = 8
Letalis = 15
Anguinus = 15
Manibozho legs = 10
Usu+1 feet = 15
Total: 152
Dex:
Rigor = 5
Manibozho = 12
2x madrigal = 10
Total: 27
Mithra(?) mnk/war: 110 dex (spreadsheet might be off by 1)
Total acc: 416 + 137/2 + 152 + 25 + 71 = 732
If 732 acc is hitting ~90% hit rate, that puts mob evasion at about 700. If the brd has Madrigal merits, that puts mob evasion at 710. If I'm missing something else on Madrigal, evasion could be about 715.
Also, in case it wasn't clear (it probably isn't; I'll change it), the Delve Eft target isn't the NM, it's the general fodder mobs (testing was done on the efts). I'll change it to something generic like "Delve Fodder".
I think I had the 86 from your spreadsheet for 2x madrigals (this might come from the AF3+2 set bonus as madx2 and marchx2 give 20 dex). Anyway the setup we used is the gear I listed, food is RCB, we are alvaan or mihtra, buffs are boostex @500 skill, DDB+GH brd with AF3+2 bonus and madrigal merits. Focus is done with AF1 head. It's worth noting that the raptor is one the most evasive delve NMs I've done. The matamata only requires sushi with this gear (and no madrigals), same for the eft NM.

Ok, Boost-Dex adds another 25 dex, and another 10 dex from 2x Marches. With Madrigal merits, that puts overall accuracy at 760, so 730 evasion for the mob.

Jinjo thanks for this awesome guide! As someone who hasn't played in a many many years coming back... I have a pretty disshoveled gear set with minimal gil(roughly 1.7m)...
I was wondering if anyone had any input on a few things. Would it be beneficial for me to lose haste cap by using Windbuffet belt instead of a Brown Belt? Or is Windbuffet belt only relevant when fully geared as you have shown in your TP gear?
Also.. for someone without Epona and Rajas rings... what would be a good alternative for the time being? Thanks in advance!!
