Khepri bonnet is a bit out of my reach and I don't have a way to do meebles at the current time. Would Kheper be an acceptable sub or should I just stick with Thaumas Head for now?

Added the miscellaneous section, touched up some sets, added some and will work on adding a few more/differentiating the hierarchy (I'm quite bad at this part, I apologize).

As I noted in..the notes.. you'll have to give me awhile on the "progression" section. I accidentally copy and pasted over it because everything started to look the same to me and I'm fairly overwhelemed by the idea of "all that..again...???". It'll happen, though.

The weapon comments are completely dumb. You make it sound like spharai is good though not as good as vere, which is pretty much HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE. Generally speaking, verethragna is good but spharai will surpass it if you have a good WS set. For glanzfaust, you are mostly ignorant.

Saying that MNK has noway to maintain AM3 is pretty dumb. Fist because you need (at most) 35s in order for 300 TPs to be ready right at the 3 minutes marks. 35s is really nothing especially because the WS damage of the mnk is going be only 30%, so you will be losing 30% of the damage 20% of the time which has litterally no impact. I've done the math and galnzfaust turns out to be the max potential damage for monk, and also with hundred fists it's clearly the best option. Here are some numbers :

On ~level 99 target with BRD buffer, boost dex, enfire, impetus , berserk
Code
vere AM1 DPS : 749.595682, spharai : 752.622505
glanz am3 DPS : shijin : 772.971381, ascetic : 727.720634

On ~level 120 target with BRD buffer, boost dex, enfire, impetus, angon

Thos DPS account for the ~35s that the monk has to do without using WS.
Code
vere DPS am1 : 400.466130, spharai : 360.613933
glanz DPS : shijin : 407.600869, ascetic : 408.899537

Yes, Glanzfaust is the best Hundred Fists weapon. I knew I forgot something.

I'm not downtalking Spharai at all, I use it way more often than Verethragna. Suppose you might be lost in translation, but what's new.

Your Glanzfaust analysis would be more relevant if that's how it worked in practice, or if AM3 were over-writable.

Thanks for your input, bye.

You're welcome :)

As a note, I added the ability to return to the TOC as an additional form of navigation at the start/end of sections of the guide. I hope that helps.

Not much in terms of upgrades since I've left. Hopefully Seeker's brings some gear worth coming back for.

A small comment about the woe weapon? There's still some people who did those in the past just cause they couldn't do abyssea and may wonder if they're better than current ah options etc.

(I've seen this kind of question happen often for many jobs)

I suppose I should have been a bit more specific. I was asking in reference to DC-EM mobs. I have it coming ahead of thaumas and nemetona in situations where khepri dex doesn't matter.

Edit: numbers now that i'm home

no room for chakra gear anywhere and atarctic soloea are better because you can cap mdt easily with shellra 5 and other gear.

How does that make solea better than suzy feet? You can get like +5 magic eva and 3-4 mdb on suzy feet its not mdt...

No they are quite close both are good, you got 3 mdb, 5 magic eva and 2% haste say on ideal suzy feet vs those solea. But his arguement about capping mdt has nothing to do with comparing these 2 pieces his reply didnt make sense.

Honestly, there's been next to no (published) testing related to guard skill. I'll start running a parser and maybe get some reasonable estimates.

I can add a Chakra build if you'd like, I personally don't have room for one outside of the pieces to remove status ailments. And I'll work on lower-end MDT/PDT sets, since there appears to be some interest. Those are just really odd to piece together, because the options almost fit together perfectly.

Fantastic guide. Very jealous of the amazing formatting.

Not to mention, Pchan is probably dying of rage right now, which is probably a great sign that the logic and facts of the guide are working as intended.

http://genomeffxi.livejournal.com/

Genome was one of the true Mnks back in day. Like many of use tanking Mnks. This is before the Mnk abyssea band wagon of course. I have cap guard and had capped guard at 75 which happened easy enough tanking salvage. Guard is an amazing skill for Mnk as it can fully mitigated damage. Read genomes Guide, it was very useful at 75 and still is.

As for chakra, Simple browse the Mnk forums having a full chakra set is a wonderful thing Mnk as well. esp when combined with Invigorate.

http://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/13116/chakra-screenshots/

This might be a little out dated now. But it is a start. A goal for most Mnks is about 700 chakra with a 20/tick regen. When combined with other regen gear running from battle to battle can net a significant amount of HP.

I only ask about Guard because I was under the impression through years of lurking that Guard (and skilling it up) was crap/a waste of time, and I haven't actually tested it myself. I believe Tigerwoods had Guard capped at one point and said it made no noteworthy difference. And generally speaking, there has been plenty of misinformation spread around about it.

I also figured I'd mention it now to get it out of the way. My Guard is at 240ish and never paid attention to it.
