Please forgive me if i missed it but was wondering if folks used hundred fists sets anymore or just use normal TP set?
If so could anyone please post the set?
Thank you.

Only when you don't need accuracy. Generally speaking with impetus you want tantra+2 body because it both augments impetus and provides you with martial arts, breaking the delay cap. I'm unaware of a situation where other martial arts gear would be better than more typical TP gear (otronif manibozho windbuffet etc). Hundred fist is such a lackluster 2hr in capped delay situations with Haste on almost every piece now that it's usually not worth bringing any more specific gear.

Basically, cap acc, attack and if so use tantra body and stack as much crit and multi attack as you can.

This might be an odd request, but does anybody have a gearset for Spinning Attack? The 35% STR mod makes this one a little less obvious to me than others like VS or Shijin, but I find it to be a good utility WS for situations where I need to quickly put myself on the hate list of multiple mobs. Couldn't tell you how many times it's saved a BLM after a resisted sleepga, for example. I know inventory is limited for most people, so I'm not so much interested in obscure but optimal pieces, but rather things a MNK is likely to be carrying around anyway that would be worth swapping in for Spinning Attack (Caudata Belt might be a good example).

Use STR gear.
You can really just use your VS set. If you really want to optimize, change out the piece(s) in your gear set where you chose crit hit rate over strength.

On a side note, pretty sure you can spinning attack naked and get more hate than sleepga.

OK, I mainly want the set for ADL I assume the above will still apply?

Low man ADL, so just Haste and maybe Embrava, no out side buffs, songs, rolls, etc

urdoinitwrong if you take a sch and not a brd

Don't you need a stun?

Depends how much Kaustra can contribute to damage id imagine, also perhaps the SCH friend of Nikia's doesn't have BRD.

No, you 'need' a smn and a DD. Adding a brd to that will do a *** more than adding sch which is mostly useless.

5 people, DD DD SMN SMN BRD will give you a 90%~ success rate and allow you to kill up to 4 ADLs a run, if you take 6 people an extra DD is far more useful than sch.

Spending most of the run without capped haste because in 2014 people don't take 1-2 days to gear up the optimal job to do lowman content is dumb.

4 DDs with 2 of them as BLU works too. Sudden Lunge is great.

MNK MNK BLU BLU BRD would be sufficient, BRD should be capable of keeping people alive with some supplemental white winds from the BLUs. ADL(and his clones) won't be moving very much.

You won't kill anything without a THF. Optimal setup is THF MNK MNK SMN BRD, 3 hours to pop and kill 5

I distinctly remember you or Mdkuser advocating Mnk/Thf for ADL farming.

With 1 smn are you alternating Astral Conduit and Perfect Defense? I haven't farmed ADL since the 1hr update.

one good one would be sufficient, lunge lasts long enough and has a short enough recast to keep both stunned. lunge lasts between 8 and 15 seconds on ADL, should only need a couple of them before at least one clone dies leaving the last one very easily stunlocked.

OK so without derailing the thread too much, our logic was MNK MNK SCH, SCH for embrava, phalanx regen etc. so far we are 2/6 on wins, think we might add a SMN and try for 2 ADLs daily.
So that would be 4 people to have to worry about, no mules or cors/etc just us four.
How horrid is this idea?

Second it was mentioned that BLU is good, how good really, and could one BLU be enough or need two?

sch is dead weight in a setup like that. It's definitely not a good idea for a blu to be spending time casting lunge with 2 DD that won't even have capped haste if you're doing more than 1 fight. ADL will split again whether or not it's stunned after a period of time so stun locking won't help that aspect.

If you're going to take 4 people brd is light years better than sch.

MNK MNK BRD SMN can achieve a much higher success rate than anything that uses a Sch.

Ok, so I haven't played the game in months. With all of the new things, I have no idea where to start on getting my gear back up to par. Here are my sets.

The only ones that I've updated since coming back yesterday are the chakra sets. I think the final goal one is the best I could figure out with my quick look. I put together a 'next upgrade' set based on what I think I am able to realistically obtain.

I have not touched the TP sets, so those are what I was going for before I took my break. As you can see, it's based on things that can/could be low-manned. Salvage 2 was a big part of that. (NNI is still out of reach unless something drastic has changed recently.)

I think my weakest set is probably Shijin, especially with the big changes I've seen while looking at the new gear.

I appreciate any feedback, and I will be going through the OP and getting reacquainted with the DPS spreadsheets in the mean time.

Short version:
1) Need new sets / priorities
2) Must be low-mannable (2-3 people)
3) No NNI
4) No gear more than 200k unless it is a drastic difference.

Edit: Got the Eminent Baghnakhs. These things are awesome.

So what is the Shijin Spiral vs Victory Smite for a MNK of my level? It looks like VS has taken top spot?

Rigors should not be your goal; Eminent already beat them. Upgrade would be Oatixur or lvl 119 RME. (possibly edited sets since original posting?)

For low-mannable upgrades, get Otronif gear from Yorcia Skirmish. Can get entry KI for under 20k (tier 1 head/body/feet), each run is rather short, and you can make steady progress with the wings (which let you buy specific items) along with the random drops.

5/5 Otronif is a pretty decent improvement over everything you have there, even without worrying about augmenting it. Other alternative is Espial gear bought with sparks. It would likely be quicker to get, though I don't remember offhand how it compares with unaugmented Otronif.

Other than that, the earring set and Asperity Necklace are good goals for TP.

For Shijin: make Epona's your second ring (since you're already going for it for the TP set). Otronif 5/5 is sufficient, though there are other good options for legs since they don't have any dex.

Also, Caudata Belt for weaponskill.

For Chakra, I'd put aside the neck and ear pieces. They're overly situational and mostly just eat up space. Caudata Belt for waist slot, as it shares with weaponskill waist.

Quick followup on Espial vs Otronif:

Without augmenting Otronif, Espial comes out ahead (5/5 for TP, 5/5 weaponskill, or replace legs with Manibozho for weaponskill; same construction for both sets). With basic augmenting (a mix of +att on the pieces, mainly), they come out nearly the same on the offense side.

Espial is fantastic for magic defense, while Otronif will always have a fair bit of PDT mixed in when you augment it.

So either one is a fine choice for getting back into a 'good' config.

Thanks.

I went back and fixed the Rigors in the goal set. I'll be updating the other sets shortly.

Otronif is superior simply because it comes with pdt which is vital in stuff like arkangels, divine might and most scnms . On of your first goal should be to get victory smite by farming a couple of woe coins, this can be very quick too.

Woops, you're right. I was thinking of Wayfarer when I wrote that. Espial's magic defense is still good, but Wayfarer is the amazing one.

How far along in wings do you need to be to get victory smite as a weapon skill?

I have full Espial now. The best part about it is that it can be worn as THF as well, so I knocked out two birds with one stone.

I'm 7/10 on Rem's tale to upgrade the body for Chakra.

Before I start on Otronif gear or anything more difficult than sparks, I need to make sure my WHM is caught up.
