Because it's better than watching 1 news channel loop the same footage for an hour. Here you get news from several sources
lol Getting your news from FF sites is like getting your WS sets critiqued on a political site.
It's actually NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE. So since we are gamers we can't have any interest in anything outside of this game? Or we can't search the net and find credible information to pass around? Wtf kind of parallel did you just try to draw?

No, it's just you get a very skewed perspective that doesn't match the general sentiment or even approach reality.
Police Chief is now saying that they believe the JFK Library incident is not related and are treating it as a 2 explosion incident.
Regarding Tenshi's NYPost link, the chief says that each hospital and hotel, etc, have a "strong police presence" as a part of their protocol. In regards to police guarding "certain rooms", he says not to read into that.
I just heard about this and, as I figured, FFXIAH had a post about it on the front page. This is outrageous. I feel so bad for anyone that was injured... they trained so hard to run a marathon just to have this happen to them.
Ugh, if I didn't hurt my back this winter I'd have been there, too.

Again, I think that's reaching. There are people here that know how to research and cite sources for things. How are links from Boston skewed or not even approach reality? Come on now.
Yeah, because Obama got blamed for 9/11 and Katrina by all those crazy extremists...
No, Bush did because you know, he was the president at the time.
lol You unwittingly proved my point. Thanks!
Uh, no, I wasnt really doing anything other then agreeing that yes, its always cool to try and blame who ever the president is at the time for tragedies.

Not gonna further de-rail the thread, but if you want to know, PM me.

Well my point was the same people who hysterically blamed Bush for the sun going down now try to project those same erratic behaviors on those of us who oppose Obama.
Tenshi, and everyone else for that matter, please stop bickering with each other. It's not really the time or the place. I think it's fair to say that if you don't have anything constructive to add, please just lurk or gtfo. This is a serious matter. This may hit a little close to home for some of us, so once again, just chill and stick to the facts. (as they are gathered)
Current injury counts are very inconstant at the moment. Some outlets are reporting as few as 50, some as many as 80, and some go even higher into the 100's. My local news is also reporting that whatever devices were used were likely placed after the event had started due to extensive security checks through the entire route.
According to CNN, the FBI is now officially calling this a terrorist attack.
They found 2 more bombs and one was in a motel, wonder if it was in a room maybe they could trace who rented the room or if they have video of who was in and out to find out who did this.
On the local news in my area they are saying there are 2 confirmed deaths- a miracle there hasn't been more at this point when you consider the graphic images of the scene of the attack.

I don't think that you can consider it miraculous until you know more about what kind of explosives were used.
I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, “Well, I’ve had it with humanity.”
But I was wrong. I don’t know what’s going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths.
But here’s what I DO know. If it’s one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we’re lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in awhile, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they’re pointed towards darkness.
But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We’d have eaten ourselves alive long ago.
So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, “The good outnumber you, and we always will.”
