OAT In 2013?

I left FFXI in 2010 and came back last month. Before I left, my RNG was top-notch, missing only relic. I had decided to do the OAT gun and bow, and left them both at level 80: Spitfire (http://images.wikia.com/ffxi/images/2/2f/Spitfire1762.png) and Condor (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Condor), respectively.

My question is, does any sane RNG use the final versions of these today? Are they worth a damn in comparison to other quickly attainable options, or just gil-spewing wastes of time? I'm working on Annihilator but it'll be a few months before that's ready, so I'd like something to tide me over. I might also do Gandiva, just because soloing Fistule has gotten me a ton of his drops already.

At the very least, I can use them for skillups...

Am currious about this as well, espcially now with the 90% Recycle Rate on ammo, if these are worth building still.

This could be very interesting for guns once the new ammo comes out. Especially if the ammo gets a boost similar to the delve weapons. With the high recycle rate counting +5 tp from those recycle a 4 hit build would be very easy.

The OAT gun/bow were never considered good because of the double shot ability. Double shot gives you OAT and does not stack with the OAT on your weapons, so using an OAT gun/bow is wasteful.

I was thinking of the OA 2-4 gun.

and quick question does the Occ deals double damage gun work on WS?

ODD doesn't work on any ws, ranged or melee.
