I was able to get Reforged BLM body Spaekona Coat and after casting a few stone spells (4mp) on mobs in Morimar I noticed that I wasn't getting any my back. Does the 2% magic dmg dealt back to mp have a cap up to the cost of the spell? Might as well switch back to my bokwus body for refresh and more dmg.

How potent is Magic Damage+?
I did wildskeeper reives on my mule and want to buy something to send to myself, not sure if i should go with Ixtab for a WAR i hardly play, or the Buremte Hat...
I want to get Buremte for Nuking on BLM but as i started opening the menu to buy i noticed i'd be losing Fast Cast some INT Haste (and a list of things)
I know 10 Magic Attack beats 10 Magic Damage.
But now im not sure if its worth replacing Nahtirah Hat with Buremte hat?
Or if Nahtirah is better overall for BLM.
(I really feel like its Nahtirah but i'd like second opinion)
Buremte Hat is certainly better than Nahtirah hat for nuking unless you're having macc issues. Augmented Hagondes at a certain point- which will change based on your other gear, beats Buremte Hat.
Is Spaekona Coat even worth the upgrade to replace Seidr? Of course has stat vomit but it has 3 less Macc, sadly no MAB or Mag Dmg.
17 Int > 7 MaB so it wins but its not as good as it should be. Im still going to make it cuz i love Blm and free spells. But how much does 17Int beat 7Mab on T1 T2 spells?
I bought an Atinian Staff then went to do a kamihr drifts wkr, I get a Bagil Staff. Something I wanted, but I looked at it's stats and I think Atinian is better, unless I am using Elemental Seal or need some -enmity. The real question is Bagil Staff or Atinian Staff? Inquiring minds want to know.
Atinian easy but Baqil staff is nice for those those jobs that can't equip atinian or a mule or part time blm....

No it isn't. Not yet at least. We are all crossing our fingers for 119 gear though. The comparison of gear varies so wildly it's kinda silly to speculate since most people have such variance in hagondes augments. I'd recommend you go to a lair reive and try different pieces of gear while casting stone 1 over and over. Repeat the process for stone 2, 3, 5, and aja if you can.
Magic damage is a flat number added to your damage before all other factors. If a naked stone 1 does 500, and you add a piece of gear with damage +10, you will do 510. It's more potent with tier 1 and 2, since it provides a greater percentile increase in base damage than with tier 3+.
At least, that is how it has been explained to me.
Hagondes with decent augment is better than mdmg+ slots. For me, toro cape is always better than bane cape. I also have some luxury items that changes the paradigm.
You can still get pretty good augments without dumping a ton of gil. Having even decent augments will make a lot of pieces way better than alternatives. Can blow nq/+1 stones if you're really set on not spending gil.
For augs i have yet to use a +2, only +1s and not many to say the least. I have 17-20 mab on all peaces except feet.
I think like someone said above tho there is no real "best build" atm since everything varies on you MaB Int Macc Mdmg. Everyone has different bonuses and hard to consider what is enough MaB or Mdmg etc. some may experience better results with Mdmg wile others favor MaB. Its pretty confusing atm since its not even worth casting anything above a T2
So I’ve never written a guide and I don’t claim to be an expert, but I wanted to try and write out a guide for Black Mage. I’ve always really enjoyed the job and it is one of the jobs that (sadly) didn’t have a guide for it until now.
I will try and keep this updated as much as I can. Gear wise, I will try to keep a low/mid/high tier sets up.
As I am only human, there may be mistakes within this guide or changes that may need to be made. Feel free to send me a PM, reply, discuss, debate, make suggestions, etc. I will add and change things as needed.
