Windows 8 really isn't AS bad as most people think it is. The core system works well once you click "Desktop".
But if you're concerned about using Windows 8, Windows 8.1 is just around the corner and is rumored to be free or extremely cheap to current Windows 8 users. And it brings back the start button, Boot to desktop, and lots of other things that Windows 8 is missing from previous Windows versions.

I believe that's the preview edition date though. Final release is usually around October. This town ain't big enough for the two of us...

How is mine for running 14? I couldnt run the original because my graphics card was incompatible or something. I had to downgrade to a older driver to play it and then if i played league it crashed so was highly annoying. Should I have any issues?

Don't go off of the benchmark numbers, they are very strict in terms of performance of the actual game.
My rig is: i5 750 2.67Ghz 6GB DDR3 RAM 1GB 5770 GPU 1920x1080 resolution With maximum settings in the benchmark, I would get 3850 on average, which I consider pretty low, and not to mention it lagged in the benchmark a lot with these settings. Fast forward to the weekend and I'm in the FFXIV beta. With absolute maximum settings, I was getting a constant 40-49FPS, no lag, even during large scale FATE's. So don't go off of the benchmark scores, it's very deceiving to the actual game. ^ don't go by benchmark. I got below the necessary 1000 points on medium settings with my pc iirc (might have been high) but I play on medium settings with no lag at all, thinking of trying high too.
You can always get a PS3 lol, way much cheaper and the game will come out in PS3. And next year you can upgrade it to PS4 which will have the graphic on par with the PC.
