Surely I'm not the only one wondering this, but with the addition of Upukirex I'm sure many people have geared DRG again. Hopefully someone with more time than myself can put a guide together. :D

Most of the people who I think would do well writing a good drg guide probably don't have time or are too lazy ^^;

I mean look at some of the other guides on the site now... It's quite an undertaking and honestly would be best if we could get a few people to work together to do it.

I'd love to write a guide but sadly my views of drg and how I play the job are frowned upon based off of community expectations of endgame play for the past few years and then some maybe.

I recall that Ihm was working on this the last time I checked, but I just checked and he's not done much on it...

If nothing has been done in about 10 hours time (when I get home from work), then I'll make a node and start compiling gear sets.

But if someone wants to take full ownership and start this, then please do, been a while since I last played DRG (I try to keep it updated though).

Aye for soloing its amazing, shock spikes aftermath is cool, but for anything where you're in a party/alliance is terrible given the -10~15% defense down you'll lose when using this weapon

Regarding gungnir we will have to wait till the REM update to see if it gets the fix to the def down they said they would do a while ago. Its not a bad weapon though its not an amazing one either but I wouldnt mind finishing mine simply because ive wanted one since 75 cap.

The shock spikes don't work for crap. Maybe if they increased their accuracy/duration/proc rate then it might be nice defensive bonus but they barely work on EP mobs. I was not impressed while helping my wife with her gungnir trials. Any mob that you'd actually need /mage to survive on would resist it in to the ground. So, I can't agree that it's a good solo weapon.

Also, after the August update, the best defensive weapon will also be the best offensive weapon because of the advantages item level gives you and particularly what main hand weapon's item level gives your wyvern.

And yeah, if they fix the def down overwriting angon thing it might be an okay weapon(when REM's are updated anyway). But they mentioned changing angon like a year and a half or more ago... Loosing hope that it'll ever happen.

they actually talked about changing the defense down from Gimpnir back when abyssea came out, but guess its in the same boat as Cait Sith, I'm hoping it sinks
