My First cousin and her husband moved to Ukraine few years ago from NYC. She's helping out over there as a nurse while her husband is a journalist. I can try finding something he wrote but yahoo mail isn't working right for me so imma wait a bit.

My grandparents are from Ukraine (only my grandmothers are alive and both live here in Michigan now). I do have other relatives in Ukraine but I never met them.

Sunday around noon I start getting contractions, but they didn't hurt. They steadily increased in frequency and duration throughout the day, but still no pain just discomfort.
Mil around 21:00: Maybe you should call the doctor and ask about them?
Me: But they aren't painful. I'm sure they are just Braxton Hicks
Mil: How often are you supposed to get them?
Me: Hmm, I don't know. I will look it up.........American Pregnancy association says only 1-2 an hour.
Mil: Maybe you should time them /slightly patient look directed my way
Me an hour later: Um, 11 in an hour. OK I'll call the emergency line.
I explain the contractions, no other indications of labor, etc. Nurse is like, well as long as your baby is still active (she was) then it sounds like you are going into early labor.
Me: What? Um, that's interesting.
Nurse: Just relax and enjoy it!
Me: Yeah sure, uh huh only 38 weeks tomorrow.
Mil: /expectant look
Me: She says it might be early labor.
Mil: ok.
Me: I'm not ready. My house is not clean enough!
Mil: /exasperated look
Me: Ok that did sound slightly neurotic but still....
Mil: /longer exasperated look
Me: Yeah, probably not what is important at the moment...
Monday still continued the contractions with pain starting up.....and then they decreased to hardly any. Mil worked from home but no labor progression.
I also felt compelled to clean and drink 4 liters of water. Fun times.
Today random contractions, but no pain.
I've of course looked up more information about this since then. Women can go for days in early labor with decreasing and increasing contractions....I really don't remember hearing/reading about this before.
Mil is now ready for me go into labor and stop with all the anticipation.

I can't even imagine! Mine seemed to happen suddenly, or they were so faint they were barely noticeable, but I already blathered about that. It is strange how with the steady "nesting" you have over the course of pregnancy, it all culminates into one sudden sprint behavior at the very end where everything has to be immaculate but it's also a calming distraction in some aspect. You do feel like a neurotic nutball in the last push! LOL!
Feeling the muscles from your abdomen from your inner thighs almost pulsing is strange. EAK! Exciting though! I'm sure both of you are ready to get this over with.

It is strange how with the steady "nesting" you have over the course of pregnancy, it all culminates into one sudden sprint behavior at the very end where everything has to be immaculate but it's also a calming distraction in some aspect. You do feel like a neurotic nutball in the last push! LOL! It is really weird. I can't believe that came out of my mouth on Sunday, but seriously that was my first reaction. "No! House needs more cleaning! Laundry not completely done! Sheets are set to be changed tomorrow! Your parents room isn't ready!" /felt very silly after mentally reviewing my words
I ended up stenciling the crib last week and warned Mil he could come home to some other stenciled surfaces like dressers or the walls. He's been very calm about it all. :)
idk how many horror stories you want to hear before you go to the hospital though. I'm ok with horror stories.

The prospect of being confined to an unfamiliar place might also play into it. IDK.
At least that period allows you to get odds and ends out of the way, no matter how manically it gets done. LOL! It's nice to have something intricate to focus on too, even though to others it might seem like obsessively polishing a knob and forgetting to open the door for the time being. Simply sitting feels unnatural at that point.

Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
