i couldn't get into the... world...? i think it's too high quality graphics for me.
nah, it's lack of immersion. no quests feel like anything, the story is rather flat & dull, there's no sense of a real world, because you can tele anywhere you want to be in two seconds, & as much as kiddies bitched that traveling took too long, it made things feel like you were there. that, & I think sparthosx made this point first, but there's no sense of danger either since you can just outrun anything that's too dangerous in your way.
maybe i'm a masochist, but i liked that you could die just doing levels 1-5 in xi. that feeling when you aggro an orc and it chases you down alongside the bunny you were beating on.
I agree 100%. Day Z is sweet & unforgiving like that, but my PC is too sissified to handle the graphics. I think the worst thing SE ever did was listen to their playerbase.

I remember the day we found east ron and thought to ourselves "man this place is huge!!!"
lol i thought that when i finally reached the edge of ronfaure i was at the highest level area in the game. then a 26 drk showed me krt and i about ***myself. i remember thinking the 26 was such a beast and i would never get there.

i was a hume in sandy. i didn't know at first that you got rings for starting in the race appropriate city. i did every new character and job in bastok for the easy leveling after that though. i took forever to get to 30 and then my goldsmithing out leveled my ranger cause i stopped until i had enough gil to buy an e-bow.

I know. I said I'd never go back though, but I simply don't like other MMOs. I've been starting to see it over the past three years or so, and all those goofballs who are still playing had it right the entire time. Nothing comparable. I thought it was because this was my first, but nope!

I simply don't like other MMOs.
I'm keeping my hopes high for the elder scrolls online one.
i haven't heard too much good stuff. everything since wow is mostly a wow clone.
i think part of what made xi so different is that it was designed to be played on ps2. so it gives it a feel that most other mmo just don't have.

but I simply don't like other MMOs. Same. I play STO (Star Trek Online) and while it is a MMO, my distaste for other humans, especially in video games, keeps me to myself.
Leon, Ohji, CNT, and I made a Fleet (LS type thing and you get to upgrade a your own starbase) but usually just me in there and sometimes Leon pops in. Game has enough content solo and when I need to join up with others in a Que of some sort, its really good and barely have to communicate with other people, you just do your job, pump, dump, done and thank you ma'am!
And I filter out all the chat in public places cause I hate reading stupidity, other than my own garbled nonsense.

Since we all can't be on the same linkshell in game, this can be our cross server linkshell thread.
Like most linkshells, it can be pretty dead at times. Other times it's full of intense conversations about either rl, gear, goals, pokemon or anything else you want to contribute.
We can cover any sort of topic at all, within reason of the forum rules. No real main topic, just a bunch of FFXIAH friends/people coming on and discussing random things.

Kungfu is the LS nutjob, spouting super random things that are usually sexist, until Savvy or Alyria comes into the room. Then he's a classic case of sexual harrassment. Rumaha is also true to the second part; we're wondering about his sexuality though.
Daj is Ludoggy's gay lover. Not much else is known about this Asuran. Tairo is kinda new, but since is a female and Alyria's lesbian lover, she fit right in real quick.
Celene(F) and Rowland(M) are more of the shyer members, but often say things that are witty, have a good pun and sometimes cause three page discussions. Celene hates when people hit on her. It doesn't stop them from trying.
Krizz is just social and likes to kill time here during work Tbest is about the same, except tends to be a douche to guys and affectionate toward girls.
Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
