Here's something to ponder, Staples wanted a credit card and my phone number in order to make 80 cents worth of copies. I had to say no 3 times and finally say "That's none of your business, can I pay (already made the copies with a courtesy card) for my copies or not?"

Honestly? There isn't really any great reason to delete a thread, except for duplicates. Someone doesn't want the thread anymore? Lock it.
Particular posts? Certainly, remove them if they don't abide by the general policy. Considering that even in P&R, some actual useful information is discussed or linked (even if it is rare), nuking a thread is just bad policy. It isn't the first time this has been pointed out.

I think either nuking or locking is *** unless the thread is a total disaster, which is actually a rarity here. I don't agree that an OP "owns" a thread and gets to shut down the conversation just being they don't like it.
