I often find myself on sales calls wondering how I got roped into it....but I'll definitely keep you in mind. I can assure you, I will not razzle nor dazzle the clients. I keep bullshittery to a minimum, and attempt to offer alternatives when their wants are not met exactly. I will also give a fake laugh at their not funny jokes or anecdotes, and a sympathetic ear to their tales of woe, but allow neither to affect the outcome of the endeavor.
I strive for a natural balance of business and personal, while maintaining competence and the ability to go slightly beyond what is called for, but not too much to overshadow others. I am not above helping co-workers if necessary, but I will only openly offer assistance to those who I deem are worth assisting. I will be known while there, and forgotten when I leave. I feel like I'd strive doing government work.
