Hey, man. I'm as big of a Kurt Russell fan as you'll find.
You need to see 'The Hateful Eight' if you haven't already.
Also...
BUM BUM
BUM BUM
BUM BUM
*creepy synthesized violins*
You knew that was coming.
Just so you know, I tried to + it like 20 times but it just kept taking away the one I already gave and gave it back.
So.

We'll spare everyone another John Carpenter geek out session.
Really, though, we've developed a high threshold for Tarantino, but Samuel L. Jackson delivers probably the most sadistic monologue that reverberates straight to the marrow. It won't simply make you squirm a little.
Fell asleep during 'The Revenant'. :/

Oh Ares. You so silly.
That guy's dead, btw. Really unfortunate. He was perfect for those types of roles.

What's Kara been up to and how are the tots?
Unrelated: The impulse is there, but I don't want to offend since we have really young idealists in there.
You just described 90% of Bernie supporters !
I'm actually curious as to how many younger ones are putting their money where their mouth is and actually showing up to polling stations or went the absentee ballot route. That might be a little more research than I care to do.
I know it doesn't account for the entirety of the US, but there is one University and three community college campuses in my county. Can't say that I saw many young faces queued up for the Dems or the 'Pubs. Then again, Texas. (/shrug)
Before people start in, Bush '04 via absentee ballot.
First local in '03 for state constitutional amendments and tort reform to spare doctors from medical malpractice suits. (Went with friends whose fathers were the head of oncology and an obstetrician. Mom was still a practicing MRN.
Also, *** y'all! Volunteered for Kay Bailey's gubernatorial race in '06.
*** the GOP as it is now!

So far, so good. Starting to get to springtime, the forsythia is about to start blooming, and the first tulip started to show color.
Had the oldest plant some seeds a couple of weeks ago, which are doing pretty well (sweetpea, mint, basil); the pea needs to be replanted outside as it is outgrowing the container as it stands.
Certainly getting into the selvstændig phase, as it is called here (independent phase a.k.a. terrible twos).
But as far as that goes, can't complain. Keeping us busy as hell. What's Kara been up to and how are the tots?

I have a couple of friends that teach in rural counties. It's amazing what you can learn in a half-decade to a decade. Being naive to the grip the far-right GOP has here, because there are no other options in some areas, is a strange realization.

Oddly enough, they didn't change too much, conceptually...without many spoilers...
...Christopher Walken did such a unique take on King Louie (and by "unique", of course, I mean he was Christopher Walken as King Louie) that it was very divorced from whatever potential racial overtones of the original, at least from my view. The cast already has Kingsley, Elba, Nyong'o, Esposito, et al (although oddly Bill Murray seems to get top billing even though I could swear Kingsley had way more lines...) so I reckon it was a very thoughtful treatment in terms of racial sensitivity, at least as far as CG animals are concerned. :p
Of course Magnuss will disagree on grounds of higher-education and actual knowledge of Kipling, yada-yada, but I thought it tread a nice even ground of fast-paced action that can keep kids' attention as well as appeal to adults, even if certain plot elements were changed from the '67 animated version.
And it's weird...
...but no one in the theatre got the joke when Mowgli picks up the cowbell in the temple and shakes it, just before the musical number with Christopher Walken! LOL ;_; I had to explain that to my friend I saw it with (she was staring at me and wondering why I was laughing at such a quiet scene in the movie)--gah, this stuff is wasted on non-geeky people! ;_;
And there was a scene at the end, where the animals gather at the water hole, with a boar and a meerkat standing side-by-side, along with the hornbill they showed earlier on...oddly neither of these seem to get any mention on the online easter-egg sites! ;_; /sigh

Ahoy, Ni.
How was everyone's weekend?
I mowed my lawn for the first time.
I never thought I could enjoy mowing a lawn.
I imagine this feeling will fade come July and 100 degree cloudless skies, but for the time being I'm going to enjoy it as being able to combine a workout and a necessary chore in one.
Also, I bought an electric sander this weekend and I need to buy a weed eater. Buying power tools has always been fun, but now I own a house and basically have free license to buy whatever we need.
It's fun.

Edit: As of 2010-10-05 14:48:06 CST, Ni reached 10,000 pages.
Since we all can't be on the same linkshell in game, this can be our cross server linkshell thread.
Like most linkshells, it can be pretty dead at times. Other times it's full of intense conversations about either rl, gear, goals, pokemon or anything else you want to contribute.
We can cover any sort of topic at all, within reason of the forum rules. No real main topic, just a bunch of FFXIAH friends/people coming on and discussing random things.

Update: Sorry Eternaltriumph, too much has changed D: (Page 698)
Eternaltriumph said: Yeah Chuu. Bringing you up to speed, Ludoggy is the LS pedophile. I'm the fountain of random and useless knowledge that makes you go "Hrm" with the occasional side of "holy shit he said what?"
Kungfu is the LS nutjob, spouting super random things that are usually sexist, until Savvy or Alyria comes into the room. Then he's a classic case of sexual harrassment. Rumaha is also true to the second part; we're wondering about his sexuality though.
Daj is Ludoggy's gay lover. Not much else is known about this Asuran. Tairo is kinda new, but since is a female and Alyria's lesbian lover, she fit right in real quick.
Celene(F) and Rowland(M) are more of the shyer members, but often say things that are witty, have a good pun and sometimes cause three page discussions. Celene hates when people hit on her. It doesn't stop them from trying.
Krizz is just social and likes to kill time here during work Tbest is about the same, except tends to be a douche to guys and affectionate toward girls.
Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
Luelle Smells.
