Cps teachers voted to do away with that... So now they don't get paid at all over the summer... My brother doesn't like the change lol... I really have no clue, honestly. I just know a lot of teachers that do extra work during the summer. Though I've never heard of any teacher friend of mine getting any sort of bonus. Well, I still have to live with a roommate as my loans escalate. I'm still living paycheck to paycheck and the amount they take out of my check for the retirement of other teachers is staggering.
I opted to get lower checks throughout the year so that I could get paid a little more in the summertime. Also, the 301 money I get is from all the time I spent working when I wasn't getting paid like chaperoning a dance, spending countless hours tutoring kids or judging speech tournaments (before I became a coach). I classify those hours onto two documents and get a little extra when I need it the most. It looks like it's free money but I really earned every penny.
