Thf AF1 problems
So I'm relatively new to FFXI and I'm trying to get the THF artifact armor so i can upgrade it. I'm opening the chests in the areas it FFXIclopedia and BGWiki say should have the legs and body. I already have the hands so i know it is not because i haven't flagged the quest. Is it random when one would get the item, or should I get it on the first chest?
well I have gone to both Castle Oztroja amd Castle Zvahl baileys and I either get gil or a illusion chest. I am also picking the locks I don't know if that makes a difference.

no but my friend pointed out that I'm a idiot because I thought only coffers spawned I have been at this for a few hours I would probably would have been done already if it wasn't for that mistake. Thanks for all your help though Josiahfk.
It should be 100% if you have the quest active and you're on the right job (assuming you don't fail and get a mimic since you're picking the locks). Are you sure you're picking the right ones? Treasure Coffers give your AF items, Treasure Chests give random garbage.
Edit: beaten. Yeah I was picking the chests I was confused i thought only the coffers spawned in the area naturally and chests dropped from monsters. Thanks for the help though.
