The fact that you dislike someone doesn't make them a bad player.

Quick question, I would normally test this myself but my PC is deciding its going to brain fart on DPS spreadsheets.

Is Metalsinger Belt > ELemental Belt for Fudo?

Disliked Iron for years, couldn't help but be impressed by his SAM all through that though.

From Keityan pg 18
Fudo:
Wins: Attack uncapped
(Elemental belt wins when attack is capped)

Iron made koga looks like a very bad a wpn at 99 he even kept complaining it was a bad wpn at 99. Maybe it was, but that sure as hell made koga unimpressive while everyone on ah/bg kept saying it was the best wpn in game.

With capped attack, at 1250 TP (Moonshade) they're pretty much equal, though pending some slight gear/STR/buffs, Metalsinger could have a 0-10 damage lead. As TP increases, Metalsinger pulls further and further ahead. (Yes, use Metalsinger at capped attack)

Prosilio is still best for uncapped attack.

From what I saw koga seemed bad and unimpressiv at 99 even after shoha compared to ragnarok/ukon but on spreadsheet and according to ffxiah/bg it was the best.

It shined highly in atk uncapped situations but I'm pretty sure it was still behind for zerg scenarios due to shoha being kinda lame in high buff and no good SP.

Pretty much everything back then was just a zerg situation wich is prolly why it was meh.

So sam was bad since abyssea till the recent fudo buff(outside of bow sam legion!), I never understood why most people complained about sam being too strong/always getting buff.

SAM was always strong, it just wasn't as strong as mnk and war in abyssea. Endgame post abyssea was complete garbage outside of Legion and SAM shined in Legion for groups willing to use them. As with everything, perception is what matters.

In practice SAM kept up with NIN and THF for damage in abby assuming you used the right atma, I said specifically WAR and MNK because they both got fairly heavily nerfed. It was the weakness system that made SAM worthless in abby.

Which has improved pretty nicely, I believe SAM now has access to every red proc besides greatsword and katana. Now we're ready for hard mode aby!

Actually~, I used to dualbox everything in abyssea before i quit, 4hit sam polearm, with atmas was breaking 10k with stardiver spam. (multihitsftw) only problem was healing, so the only reliable way to dish out that much dmg was to dualbox a whm with me when i farmed.

But for soloing and in general, ninja was pretty king.

anything with a crit WS p much trounced SAM in terms of overall damage output. that said, damage output wasn't ever an issue in Abyssea anyway so it didn't really matter, procs were the primary concern

Stardiver is only available to Warriors, Dragoons, and Samurai.
While other jobs may obtain skill level 357 earlier than level 96, Stardiver may be unlocked once skill reaches level 357 and job level 96 is reached.
Polearm skill level 357 is obtainable by the following jobs at these corresponding levels:

Job Rating Level
Dragoon A 90
Samurai B- 95
Warrior B- 95

I distinctly remember having requiescat for abyssea, which is a merit ws . . . as is this . . .

Stardiver didn't exist in the early days of abyssea (you know back when everybody was 12~18manning Ovni)

But mid~late abyssea the merit ws's came out, I distinctly remember the hell i had endured, farming colourless souls with my sam dualboxing a whm X_x

The whole point of using events as a timeline is you take their date of implementation up until the next defining event.

So no, even if you were still doing abyssea after 2 more level caps it's completely irrelevant.

you see your credibility? cause I never did.
