My point was, isn't Florida more or less screwed at this point? The way I understand it, it's only a matter of decades before it becomes more watery at all times than Louisiana on a bad day.

I admit I'm going on hearsay from people I would expect to have fact checked their statements and have done no research on the topic myself, but basically I've been told Florida's turning into a swamp one way or another.

Now let me talk about the Spanish people. Now I understand that they come over here against our Constitution and cross our borders. But they're here, and they're people. And I've worked beside a lot of them. Don't tell me they don't work, and don't tell me they don't pay taxes. And don't tell me they don't have better family structures than most of us white people. When you see those Mexican families, they're together, they picnic together, they're spending their time together. And I'll tell you, in my way of thinking, they're awful nice people. And we need to have those people going to be with us.

According to Horsford, his constituents say the militia have set up checkpoints where residents must prove they live in the area before they are allowed to pass and have set up a "persistent presence" along federal highways, and state and county roads. They also claim some have established an armed presence in the community.
