From my experience doing this, the key to winning lies in having dependable (and layered) sleeps. The wivres are, by far, the most dangerous aspect of this...so long as they are kept asleep this fight is quite easy and manageable.
The wivres tend to wake up at the most inconvenient times and will wallop the sleeper pretty hard, so having extra sleeps from a backup mage (or more even) is great. Also having DD that can immediately pull hate off of newly-wakened wivres (through voke or big WS) will save a lot of grief from the sleeper(s) also. Having just one sleeper is a bit risky, IMHO, because if that one mage goes down all of your DD-DRGs are forced to solo the remaining wivres, which is bad because they tend to take less damage from the front and it will eat up your time (since the Quadav likes to do Invincible a lot when you fight him.)
Ironically the NM Quadav is named "Ru'Bha Stonewall" and there is a handy stone wall right next to the pop area to make him run around. SE does have a sense of humour. But you can kite him around that wall indefinitely, so assuming you aren't in danger of time-out, be sure to rest everyone to full after killing all the wivres. He likes to spam Headbutt at low HPs so be sure to watch your tank's HPs because they might get stun-locked for long stretches.
