Its not an issue, we are only letting in a very small number, the conservatives are just stirring up the fearmongering (ebola anyone?) based on Paris, which doesn't appear to have been orchestrated by refugees at all
It's not fearmongering. Saying to be careful of who you are letting in from Syria is completely reasonable. The vetting process is not stringent, this from the mouth if the FBI director. Our screening is based solely on our lists. If they aren't on our lists we know nothing about them. He admits this.
What are the people fleeing from? They are fleeing from other people in Syria. You think it is bad to make sure each individual is the one doing the fleeing and not one of the Syrians they are fleeing from?
Is it a bad strategy for ISIS sympathizers to pose as refugees? One of the Paris attackers was a Syrian refugee.
Democrats haven't given two shits about Syrians for the last three years. Obama has does nothing right with Syria and like good little drones you have been complicit in his failure every step of the way. Now Democrats try to get on the high horse and irresponsibility politicize refugees from Syria. Dangerous, bad politics.

At its heart I fear and suspect the desire to bring in the Islamic refugees largely comes in many people from a deep desire to see harm come to America and its Christian values.

I respect Muslim ppl as human beings and feel extreme sympathy for those in war torn countries like Syria yet the fact remains. You cannot change thier way of life through bombing. You cannot bring them Democracy. You cannot be the "good guy" in thier book. None of the above is possible due to the Quran itself. Thier god Allah is a dictator. An extremely prejudice and hateful individual that does not accept our culture, way of life, or freedoms. If Muslims would just abandon thier god to some extent just to allow some of what I mentioned into thier world then things might not be as they are now. "Killing" ppl whom leave the Islamic faith or oppressing the "Kafir" amongst them is not a joke. Maybe one day things will change. Maybe sooner rather than later but as is atm Islam is and always has been a threat to non-muslims within the mideast. I'm tired of hearing someone shouted Allah Akbar and innocent ppl had to die due to Allah's existence. Yet this ain't nothing new and has been happening since Muhammad wrote his book.

My country is taking more refugees in than USA..
...we're doing it because it's the right thing to do. What country is that? And you do realize it's only "the right thing to do" as long as innocent ppl in your country do not pay the price and are not killed in the name of Allah Akbar right? Sometimes the right thing to do is protecting yourself first and helping others from afar to ensure your own ppl's safety. Especially when you understand what it is that we are dealing with here.

This really isn't that hard, people. Let them in, but be very thorough with the background checks. My fellow conservatives won't like this, but hear me out. We know that the background checks won't be perfect and that resources are limited, so let's look at two scenarios and why this plan will work for conservatives too:
Scenario A (what liberals may expect): Nothing happens. Liberals are happy, but it's a win for humanity so conservatives should just be happy as well.
Scenario B (what conservatives may expect): Terrorists sneak through, do something terroristy. People die. A loss for humanity.*
*Conservative Silver Lining: Obama looks like an idiot, conservatives get a giant "I TOLD YOU SO" card, and they can lord it over liberals for a long time to come. If post 9/11 airports are any indication, we also become ridiculously cautious about future refugees as a result. Who knows, maybe as a country we get a solid dose of 'Murica juice flowing through our veins and actually do something serious about ISIS for once.
Win/win.

You guys make it sound like the vetting process is as basic as a Google search.
How America's screening of Syrian refugees works
How do Syrian refugees get into the U.S.? Explaining the process
Some excerpts relevant to the recent discussion:
Quote: And refugees from Syria actually go through another layer of screening, called the Syria Enhanced Review process.
"With the Syrian program, we've benefited from our years of experience in vetting Iraqi refugee applicants," a senior administration official recently told reporters. "And so the partnerships we have today and the security checks we have today really are more robust because of the experience that we've had since the beginning of large-scale Iraqi processing in 2007."
Another senior administration official noted that the refugee screening process is constantly refined. Quote: One administration official admitted that a lack of records is often a problem for refugees, but "in contrast to that," Syrians and Iraqis tend to be "a very, very heavily documented population." Trained U.S. specialists examine their passports, family registries and military records to *** authenticity, that official said. A couple thousand have been here since before Paris happened:
Quote: U.S. government data shows that just under 2,200 Syrian refugees have been admitted into the United States since the civil war broke out in March of 2011, and the vast majority of those were in the last year. Then there's the unsurprising hardlining against programs that largely benefit children by people who pretend to espouse "Christian values" (see also: welfare):
Quote: What do we know about the refugees admitted so far?
According to senior administration officials, more than half of the Syrian refugees admitted into the U.S. so far are children.

If you have a religion that means everything to you and your nation and it does not agree with many, if not all, things we see as civil rights ourselves. What right do we have to think that we can fix or drastically alter any nation into something more aligned along the same guidelines as our own? We never had any business messing with Iraq nor Libya and now Syria. This is all madness thinking we can help one side over another when in the end nothing changes. Islam is a set of extremely strict religious guidelines and beliefs that are not aimed along the lines of a Democratic society. It's just not. So what makes us think that eventho this guy, the next or the other is a "Tyrant" that someone worst will not fill the void that we helped create? Our troops do not belong there. Our bombs do not belong there and our assistance only creates more enemies.
The best offense worldwide is bolstering our defense to the point where we can intercept any and all terrorist attacks. Not fighting or getting involved in thier civil matters with our own military might. You cannot kill an ideology or religious way of life and it's absolutely *** HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE thinking we can make ourselves more safe by trying to do such.....
You eliminate one group and you wind up with another. It never ends.

Your understanding of "Christian values" is so unbelievably twisted and tainted by greed, selfishness, and xenophobia that you're practically as worthless to Christianity as ISIS is to Muslims.

All these stories of ISIS training children, could they be among the child refugees coming? Sure could be.
Plebo improperly places faith not only in our government diligence but also in the faith that the information out of Syria could not be falsified.
Foolish.

Ex jihad converted tells about Islam
Couldn't rip the video of the interview alone sorry but it's an interesting insight.

I'm sure you're the authority on Christian values.
Smug condescension helps your cause. Truly it does.
But really. How could someone who was raised in a fairly devout Catholic setting and who went to CCD and Mass weekly and also frequently attended protestant services each week due to familial and other obligations know the first thing about Christ's teachings?
I'm sure it really escapes you as to how someone could hold very strong Christian values without believing in -- in fact, being ardentky against -- the dogma and mythology.
I'm also sure you're entirely blind to how devoutly following the dogma and mythology without considering the real-world repercussions relates to radical Islamic terrorists in comparison to the Muslims who are trying to follow their religion and otherwise lead normal everyday lives, much like most Christians in this country.
Look in the mirror if you want to know what causes terrorism Nausi. Because if you understood the mechanisms of how terrorists are made, you have but to imagine yourself -- exactly as you are otherwise -- having been raised in a war-torn Muslim nation. Your hate, your fear, your views on women and those who don't think like you, your need to protect your traditions vehemently.
Ask yourself whether they're more in line with the teachings of Christ or the teachings of Islamic terrorists perceived views on their own religion.
And I'm sure this is most likely just to receive more flippancy in response, but I truly would appreciate if you'd try to consider what I've said before you start hurling petty insults.

What, the screening process is based by this website? Sounds about right.

Oh, great. The person the Swedish security police (Säpo) has been looking for is suspected to have around 10 allies/helpers. This guy went to Syria to fight for ISIS and now has supposedly returned to Sweden and he's suspected of planning an act of terrorism.
Correction: A suspect in Instanbul had the fake Swedish passport but there's no connection to France yet

Syrian refugees will be asked how much dual-wield from gear they need at max haste on a level 99 ninja for optimal DPS. If they can't answer such a simple question, they will be refused entry into the U.S.

The article that you got the information from probably would have mentioned that the "poison" only made you pee blue.
Plus, I'm not allergic to peanuts.
